Walking further the reeds

Sometimes we walk without stopping or without wanting to stop and without realizing we are going beyond... because there is always a way and we like to go far, even into the unknown. This is how this new walk has been, another Wednesday walk thanks to the initiative of @tattoodjay, outdoors and surrounded by nature and also by the sea. Will you accompany me?

Many of us have this eagerness to explore and discover, new paths, new places or others already known, others forgotten and others that we always adore. It doesn't matter, we walk with our eyes towards the most distance point, looking ahead wanting to know what's there...

And and we come from afar, from areas that are already familiar to us, but in our new environment we want to know more, what wonderful things will be behind there? Behind a lush vegetation that we suddenly find ourselves. Because we leave a small coastal town to enter another, we look at the sign (it says Almarda) and the only way is an old road that used to be busy and is now only reserved for those of us who walk, run, or for those who ride a bike or those who they walk the dog. They all enjoy in common, tranquility, silence and peace between houses and nature.

The nature of the place is what catches our attention, from the gardens and shrubs typical of the promenades we now move on to a more wild place, trees and reeds intermingle in almost wild vegetation, which seems to be just there, as an exit magically trying to invade that empty road.

But it is not magic, it is possibly what is left of ancient coastal forests, now next to an old abandoned road that serves as a promenade. And to the other side? Curiously, on the other side we find some beautiful large white houses, with their own gardens and surrounded by palm trees. Houses on the first line of an almost deserted place, in front of a town that we do not know for now...

But in addition to the peace of the surroundings, we feel some curiosity too. Along those long wooden paths flanked by walls of common reeds or rushes, which look like feather dusters.

We followed one of those paths blindly but looking at that enchanting place now deserted, and like deserts we ran into sand, and suddenly a vast beach, wide and immense, and also lonely on a calm day, with a misty sky that it makes the sky almost confuse the open sea.

But we know that the sea is there in front of us, all for us, only a few vestiges of summer remain, the wooden watchtower that now stands there as the only reminder of other warmer and sunnier times.

Today we enjoy the contrast, days that are less bright but just as beautiful, with a different light, with fewer people, with more enthusiasm because it is a different and new place that we have discovered. A first sight, new sensations.

A walk that will continue, while now the reeds greets us in a place to which we want to return, a beach that invites us warmly, and a natural space that awakens our senses and our curiosity. It looks understated, without being too ostentatious, but nothing more is needed than to take a deep breath and keep walking further.

Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful and curious day.
