Discover the life of Xo Dang ethnic minority people in Vi R'Ngheo village

Hi Hivers in the Wednesday Walk community, it's been a while since I've posted in this wonderful community. Thank you so much @tattoodjay for running this community. And today I would like to invite you to join me on a walking tour to discover Vi R'Ngheo village, a village of Xo Dang ethnic minority people, in Dak Tang commune, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province.

Vi R'Ngheo Village is a small village located about 55km from the center of Mang Den town, where I live. There is only one way to get there, which is the provincial road DT676. Located in a remote area of a mountainous district, the road to get there is quite bad, there are many potholes on the road. Although the distance is only 55km, it took me more than 2 hours to drive there. I then left my car at the courtyard of the communal house there. If you are new to their village and you do not know anyone in the village, you will be greeted by curious eyes. I have an ethnic friend there, who is A Kieu, and I've been there a few times too so everyone there always greets me every time I come.

Vi R'Ngheo Village is a small village nestled between the surrounding forest and mountains. It's unlucky that by the time I was there, the weather wasn't good, then I couldn't take good photos of the surrounding mountains. I hope next time when I go back there, the weather is better, then I can take better photos. But anyway, in my eyes, the scenery is beautiful in its way despite of any weather conditions.

One of the things I really like about this village is architecture. All the houses in this village are made from wood. It's understandable that because of the remote location, it's hard to transport the building materials there. Then local people have used the materials around them. The houses there were built so many years ago, and until today they have been still preserved very well. I like to stay far from the village and look back the beautiful houses.

And another things I really like about this village is the children. They are so cute. I have been to the village several times, so they were happy when I came there. I remember that at the first time I was there, they were quite shy and ran away when I tried to approach them. But now, they know me quite well and are happy to stay and play with me. Every time I go there I buy some cakes or candies for them. They are educated really well. They always share things with their friends. And after finishing food, they put garbage into the trash bins. That's why I love them so much.

And today I was lucky to join an important event over there and watch how people prepare for it. It was a new house party at A Kieu's parents' house. They just built a stilt house. A Kieu's family is a big family with six children and they also invite their neighbors for the party, I feel like every one is welcomed for their party. They cooked some food familiar to them such as: rice, chicken, ducks, bamboo shoots and wild vegetable, and they cooked a lot. Every one was very happy to gather around the open kitchen and prepare things for the party. The children were chasing around. That's a very cozy atmosphere over there.

A Kieu's family cooked a huge pot of bamboo shoots for the party.

After the party, I kept walking around the village to discover more about the beauty of the village. And there were so many interesting things to see over there. We can easily find many different kinds of animals around the village like: pigs, cows, buffalos, chicken, ducks, dogs,...And all of them also have a chilled life too. The livestocks here can go around the village and they live near people, they are not scared of human and are quite friendly. Going to the end of the village, I discovered a beautiful waterfall.
