Update of the Openclimatec campaign

On September 16th, 2020 I created the openclimatec account

On September 28th, I proposed the Open climate campaign to distribute 4,000 Seeds to 100 organizations fighting climate change.

During the November 2020 Collabathon organized by the Yale OpenLab, I have contacted many organizations, but:

  • People are very busy with there projects
  • They don’t know SEEDS and the Telos blockchain
  • They don’t want to spend the necessary time to learn the tools for a new blockchain when they are already involve in Ethereum or Openledger.

Only 3 organizations have accepted to open a SEEDS account for their organization to receive the 4,000 Seeds.
I have invited several ones, so there are still 386,479 Seeds lying in the openclimatec account.

The most positive effect of this campaign is that i have discovered the Climate chain coalition and registered SEEDS as a member of the coalition with 250+ other organizations.

In 2021 other occurrences of the Open Climate Collabathon have been cancelled due to the Covid situation.

It takes times to build relationship in the blockchain world and I will continue to participate to the climate chain coalition and to the future sessions of the Collabathon.

New ideas to better use the funds of this campaign are welcome.
