Today we pack up the bus and head out on the road. It's over 800 miles to our destination, we're going to travel two full days to get there. The idea is to skip the fast food and the hotels and eat and sleep in the bus. We'll have prepared food for the trip and we have four cots + an air mattress for daddy and mommy. It'll be a little tight, but not uncomfortable, not much different than camping in our tent!
Learned that it takes about $140 (40 gallons) to fill up the bus at current gas prices. If we get around 10 MPG, that'll be about 400 miles per fill up. Maybe... just maybe we'll get good enough gas mileage to make it on two tanks. I guess we'll see! Ummm, I just looked it up and discovered MPG is around 8-9. Oh boy, this is going to be an expensive trip!
But everything is packed and ready to go, let's see where it goes from here. No matter what, we're traveling somewhere for these holy days!
