Today we decided to finish up our apple sauce project, last batch we made and canned about half of our orchard apples, now we're finishing them up.
We chop them up, stems, seeds, cores, skins, everything. Them we put them through the mill and out comes fresh hot apple sauce!
We have two very expert taste-testers waiting for a chance to scoop the cooked apples and turn the mill.
The bowl is getting fuller and fuller of sweet, delicious apple sauce.
This should make enough apple sauce for at least a year! Rather than purchasing pre-made for several dollars each, our fresh stuff comes out to about on dollar per can. No preservatives or sugar, just apples from the orchard to our dinner plate on the cheap!
Have you ever made apple sauce before?
Bless the Most High!
