A mistake/neglect medical case | COVID status in Oman | IAAC #88

Today morning, one Bangladeshi patient visited me. He had a painful lesion in his right hand. According to him, he sustained an injury one year and a half back when he was in Bangladesh. There was a cut injury with glasses 🥃. He went to a doctor who stitched him back then.

Following that his external wound became fine but a part of the wound became thick and persistently painful while putting pressure over it. A few days earlier, some sharp edge came out from the thick portion of the previous wound. He tried to remove that one at home but due to pain, he couldn't. So, he visited me.

Under local anaesthesia, I was able to bring out two small glass pieces. Those were under the skin for more than a year.

(If his statement is correct) It was a neglect or a mistake by the doctor who stitched him at the time of injury. The wound wasn't explored properly, hence a few pieces of glass left behind under the skin.
