Hi, Hive! My friends and I often go to the countryside, we like to have a BBQ, but this Sunday we decided to make a little variety and went in search of the chapel, which is located in the village of Anikin (Rostov Region) which is 20 kilometers from the city.
This is a very picturesque place, the real Don steppes, and since the weather was sunny - the trip promised to be interesting.
Since Internet service in the steppes is poor, we drove around the steppes for a while, and finding a road, we drove through the places where fierce battles were fought during World War II. We found a monument to the Soviet soldiers and the peasants who died in the battles, and in a place like this we are overwhelmed with gratitude to our ancestors.
And a kilometer away, we came upon some ruined buildings. Apparently they were farm buildings, where 70 years ago they kept cows or pigs.
The places are very interesting, and wandering among the ruins was extremely exciting. It was a very unusual experience.
After another hour, we found our way to the chapel, which stood on a hill, so we had to leave the car on the road and walk to it on the path. It turned out to be a small house, but very clean and well maintained, with icons and an altar, but most importantly, the spirit of the place is fascinating. It would seem - one room in a wooden house away from the city, but going there you feel that the way there was not in vain, and as a man of faith was very pleased to be in this place. In addition, from the top of the hill we had a wonderful view of the surrounding area.
We stayed there for a short time, gave one of our friends time to pray for the health of her loved ones, and then headed home.
I was very happy to be there and discover something new, and it would be interesting to know - do you often explore your town's surroundings?
