On creating Canada tokens

Hive is all about Communities, and the new Canada community is meant to be a place for all Canadians, including those born elsewhere who live in Canada. This group is open to all Hivvers even if you just want to post about Canadian topics. Feel free to ask questions! Lets make this the most active Canada group on Hive!

We are also all very excited about building our Tribe and launching tokens, but there are some costs involved and in order to do it properly we are going to need to agree on a few things up front. Let us explore these ideas and strive to reach a simple consensus.

Of the ideas I have heard so far, Canada tokens could be called

1 Bucks, food
2 Poutine, food
3 Syrup, food
4 Oil, resource
5 Beaver, resource

Lets keep brainstorming this, so it can be gamified. I like the idea of buying a Tap (miner token) and staking it, which would provide you a daily drip of SYRUP.

I thought it would be a good focus for this group to use dPOLL to create polls, and we can have engaging discussions with lots of comments. I am tagging current group members for your participation in this next step.

@saboin @alapok @phusionphil @mytechtrail @shadflyfilms @annephilbrick @bulldog-joy @offgridlife @hivecoffee

For now, I would ask members of this group to vote on the POLL comment below, by selecting the token name you like the most. This will not eliminate the other choices, just get a feeling for which would be the best to focus on first.

I believe we should start a pool of LEO and HIVE tokens, that users can send funds to: @cvault <- We need to raise 100 BEE for the token creation and 1000 BEE for staking. There are some other costs also so we need to pool about 5000 HIVE or 2000 LEO.

If 35 individual users contribute just 58 LEO each then we will pool enough value to launch our very own Canada community tribe token! If the group wants this, we can make it happen, with the help of amazing devs like @aggroed .
