In this post, I am back to take part in the Contest Week 38 Edition 2 held by the Hive Learners Community.
The theme of the contest in this edition is "E-Books Vs Paperbacks", and as our technology develops it becomes easier to do a number of things, especially in terms of reading books. Because in the past, if we wanted to read a book, We had to buy or borrow it first.
Now technology makes it easier for us to read books, because we no longer necessary carry books everywhere to read books because now we can read various book titles on our cellphones directly so that technology makes it easier for us to do things like read books.
In the past, people who liked to read books would have had a bookcase in their house to store the books they had read. And in the past, when there was free time, people preferred to read books compared to playing cellphones, but it seems as if everything has changed.
And now people prefer to read books on their cellphones, because they can take their cellphones anywhere so now people can read books when they are anywhere, like when they are at home, in cafes, at park or elsewhere.
Even though it makes it easier for us, reading e-books also has positive and negative sides. Also, that technological advances not always make it easier for us, sometimes there are negative sides too, so we also have to be smart in using technological sophistication like today.
The positive side that we can take the ebook is because it makes it easy us to read books anywhere, and the negative side of the ebook is that we can be exposed to radiation from cellphones if we read books from ebooks for too long and can even damage our eyes if we read on dark place.
The positive side of an ordinary book is that we are more focused when reading the book so that what we read is easier for us to understand. Meanwhile, the drawback of an ordinary book is that it is very complicated to carry around so that some people even only read the books just when they are at home.
If asked to choose between Ebooks vs Paperbacks, then I prefer regular books to e-books because when reading ordinary books we are more focused than reading ebooks. Because when reading an Ebook, we often experience distractions, such as get notifications from Whatsapp, Instagram, or even getting a call from someone.
Actually, I myself am not the type of person who likes to read both types of books. I used to read books a lot when I was still at school, but the books I read were usually books related to history, especially history books about our country.
And the point is that both types of books have their own strengths and weaknesses, but we are free to choose both types of books. Because everyone's choices are definitely different, some like to read ebooks and some like to read regular books.
