Common sense is common and easy to learn

Hi Hives,

From my childhood days I have been listening to one statement i.e. "common sense is not common", it is not easily found or learned either. This statement is hollow in itself. I will breakdown this statement and will give you hints to excel in it.

1. Knowledge vs common sense

You have to understand that knowledge is information, facts or processed raw data. Knowledge tries to remain absolute and non dependent. It is we who try to associate the same knowledge in every situation we come across. This is where we lose our common sense. Knowledge is absolute, it doesn't associate itself with a situation but if it is, it is explicitly written as well - where to use, how to use.

To be intelligent you can possess a lot of knowledge inside your head, but to be intellect you must have a sense to understand it and define its use cases. Common sense is the ability by which you transform your knowledge to fulfill a purpose or an act.

2. Common sense is when you use your senses

Common sense is the derivation of both knowledge and your senses. We humans have five senses from which we get information and we perform actions as well. Now if your senses are perceiving the knowledge or data correctly and your mind is capable enough to understand it, break it down, reaching the crux of knowledge, that's where you form the common sense. So common sense is you comprehending the knowledge up to your capabilities.

3. Common sense varies person by person

As you are perceiving the knowledge, it is quite possible that another person is perceiving it as well but in a little different manner. And if perceiving is the same in both then understanding differs because understanding is based on experiences. Hence you may easily find that one object can be used in many ways as well and it's totally dependent on your situation, what purpose you want to fulfill, the degree to which you want to be correct.

4. Difference is natural and incomparable

Someone can have a better way of approaching a knowledge or an act than you. And it's totally fine. Because the degree to which you want to give your attention to an act, is totally dependent on you. You can be a little bit relaxed and performing, while someone else will be proactive, vigilant towards the same act. And again as I mentioned, it depends on your understanding and experiences too.

Take a deep sigh, we all possess common sense and it is up to the mark to which we want it to be. The difference is natural and incomparable.
