Soy nueva en esta comunidad, me invitó @irenenavarroart a participar en el concurso [Películas que inspiran](https://peakd.com/hive-131951/@holos-lotus/concurso-films-que-inspiran-contest-films-that-inspire), Al principio no podía pensar en una película que me hubiera inspirado a hacer algo especial o que provocara un gran cambio de mentalidad, pensé que tendría que dejar pasar esta invitación, pero recordé una película que no vi muchas veces, solo una y hace muchos años, y sigo pensando en ella de la misma manera. Antes de empezar quiero invitar a @pashinni y a @chincoculbert a participar. >Hello! Cuando lo pienso, no se trata sólo de que yo quiera tener un hijo sin pasar por el embarazo (Ya hablaremos de ello) Se trata de ese niño y de lo que le puedo pasar para llegar a mí, se trata de su madre y de lo que la hace incapaz de cuidar a su bebé, ¿Lo quiere? ¿Es una decisión que tomó porque no quería un bebé o porque los quiere lo suficiente como para pensar en su futuro? ¿Fue una decisión en lo absoluto?. >This is movie is related to parenthood, and I'm not a parent nor plan on becoming one soon, but my main option, if I get the economic stability to do so, is to adopt. When I think about it, it's not only about me wanting to have a child without going through the pregnancy (We'll talk about it later) It's about that kid and what could happen to them to come to me, it's about their mother and what makes her unable to take care of her baby, Does she love them? This is a decision she made because she didn't want a baby or because she love them enough to think about their future? Al principio de la película está con su madre, su hermana y su hermanito, siempre hay cierta tensión entre todos ellos, se acaban de mudar de otra ciudad y están empezando en el instituto en mitad del semestre, incluso han traído al bebé a este primer día. La primera clase es sobre sexualidad y todos los adolescentes están siendo demasiado abiertos sobre los amigos con beneficios y Jacey parece incómoda. Al final de la clase, ella salta cuando le dice a la profesora que su falta de participación es porque no pudo dormir anoche y la profesora dice que los bebés hacen eso, luego se calma cuando dice que sabe que hay un bebé porque conoció a su hermanito. At the beginning of the movie she's with her mom, her sister, and his baby brother, there is always some tension between all of them, they just moved from another city and are starting in high school in the middle of the semester, they even brought the baby to this firs day. >The first class is about sexuality and all of the teenagers are being too open about friends with benefits and Jacey seems uncomfortable. Ella se embarazó siendo adolescente porque estaba enamorada y no pensó en las consecuencias de sus actos, no pensó en ser responsable, no le enseñaron a tener sexo seguro, solo le dijeron que no lo hiciera, "cuídate" pero no le mostraron la realidad. Esa fue una decisión que tomó mientras estaba embarazada pero no fue capaz de entregarcelos cuando llegó el momento. La pareja que debía recibirlo eran su profesora y su marido (también profesor de Jacey) no pudo hacerlo la primera vez porque eran totalmente desconocidos, de hecho, nunca los vio, pero después de conocerlos y conocer a otras madres que pasaron por la misma situación, finalmente tomó la decisión de entregárselos. >So much happened in the middle but everything made Jacey realize that she wasn't able to give her son the life he deserve, but there was a family there that could do it. That was a decision she took while pregnant but wasn't able to hand him when the time came. Creo recordar que mi papá fue quien me la mostró la primera vez que la vi, tal vez para enseñarme sobre las consecuencias del sexo, pero yo ya sabía eso, que soy bastante inteligente jaja, pero lo que realmente me impactó fue la última secuencia en la que ella le entrega el bebé a sus nuevos padres y después cuando él es un niño pequeño y sabe que salió de la panza de Jacey y que ella lo ama aunque no pudo criarlo. Tienen una adopción abierta y tienen una buena relación. Le preguntan a Charlie, el niño de ahora cinco años, ¿Por qué Jacey es especial? y él responde "porque soy el único que sabe lo que siente su corazón desde dentro" y eso es precioso porque hay mucho tabú alrededor de la adopción, las madres jóvenes sienten que tienen que criar al bebé o son malas personas, pero tomar esa gran decisión de dárselo a alguien que puede hacerlo mejor es una enorme muestra de amor, eso las convierte en madres increíbles. I think I remember my dad was who showed me that movie the first time I watched it, maybe to teach me about the consequences of sex, but I already knew that I'm quite smart haha, but what really got to me was the last sequence where she hands the baby to his new parents and then later on when he's a little kid and knows that he came from Jacey's belly and that she loves him even when she couldn't raise him. >They got an open adoption and they have a good relationship. They ask Charlie, the now five years old kid, Why is Jacey special? and he responds "because I'm the only one who knows how her heart feels from the inside of her" and that's beautiful because there is a lot of tabú around adoption, young mothers feel like they have to raise the baby or they are bad persons, but taking that big decision to give them to someone who can do better for them is a huge token of love, that makes them awesome mothers. Además no me gusta como va este mundo, tantas crisis, tantas guerras, la gente mala parece ser más y ganar, en mi país todo es innecesariamente duro, así que no quiero traer un nuevo niño aquí. La adopción, si llego a tener la estabilidad económica para tener un hijo pero no voy a darlo a luz, me gustaría ser esa familia que dé mejores opciones a un niño que lo necesite. Hay tantos niños en el sistema de adopción que se convierten en adultos y nunca consiguen una familia; se oye todo el tiempo cuando se habla del aborto "no lo hagas, dalo en adopción" ¿Pero cuántas de esas personas que dicen eso van a adoptar? La verdad es que la gente prefiere pasar por costosos tratamientos de fertilidad antes de considerar la adopción. En la película se puede ver como la profesora lo intentaba con inyecciones como principal opción porque por supuesto quería que el bebé fuera suyo, la adopción vino después cuando vieron que no funcionaba aún. Al ver las dos caras de la moneda, siento que tomar la decisión de adoptar cierra un círculo necesario para que un bebé (o más) puedan tener una amorosa familia, diferentes circunstancias le hicieron nacer en un entorno donde no puede quedarse pero eso no significa que no haya lugar al que pertenezca. Adoption, if I do get to the financial stability to have a child but I won't give birth, I'd like to be that family who will give better options to a child that needs it. There are so many kids in the adoption system the become adults and never get a family; you hear all the time when the abortion topic comes "don't do it, give them to adoption instead" But how many of those persons saying that will adopt? The truth is that people rather go through expensive fertility treatments before considering adoption. In the movie you can see how the teacher was trying with injections as her main option because of course she wanted the baby to be hers, adoption came later when they saw it wasn't working yet. >Seeing both sides of the coin, I feel that making the decision to adopt closes a necessary circle so that a baby (or more) can have a loving family, different circumstances made them be born in an environment where they can't stay but that doesn't mean there is no place where they belong. Para los adultos, la adopción es una forma válida y hermosa de convertirse en padre o madre, querrás a ese niño como si lo hubieras parido y ayudarás a una familia a hacer lo mejor para él. >The movie has that great message for teenagers, don't be irresponsible because having a baby is not easy and it will affect not just you but the people around you. For adults, adoption is a valid and beautiful way to become a parent, you will love that kid as you gave birth to them and you will help a family to do the best for them.
