My Take On Cancel Culture.

What is cancel culture?

Cancel culture is another name of call-out culture. It can be defined as a social media practice of engaging in the cancellation or a way of expressing their disapproval over something. It can be known as a way in which the society says no to a particular thing or the other. Imagine in your head that you’re going through a cancel culture maybe in the sense that your music genre may feel too old by the society and they feel the best thing to do is sabotage your music style.

This is why we tend to realize that any individual who finds himself or herself at the centre of cancel culture tend to have feelings of depression, sadness, anxiety and also social isolation. It makes them feel neglected.

Is cancel culture an act that I’d love to get behind?

We have different ways in which we think about something but I see cancel culture as a way of sabotaging or making something feel less of itself. I’m sorry about that but that’s what I understand it as. It is also a way of publicly shaming some people of their beliefs. We all have our opinions and we all can’t even say we’re right or not but the society usually makes you feel like you’re right and those who don’t have so many people who support them are wrong.

I will never be a party to cancel culture because everyone is subjected to the way they feel and also their opinions. Imagine we all say that the books Williams Shakespeare wrote during his lifetime were all trash forgetting how we used to enjoy reading those books then and how we even benefited from them. It wouldn’t make sense. If you ever have an idea, hold on to it no matter how much the world makes you feel isolated.

Do I think it is a good trend or just some bunch of people abusing the power of social media?

One of the best ways someone’s succes can be measured is by the amount of money they have. It’s crazy and the world doesn’t want to know anymore thing even though you’re not sensible. That’s why some people tend to follow celebrities and do whatever they do.

If a social media influencer who happens to be the favorite of so many people posts up something about cancel culture today, his fans will repost it and it keeps going like that. They don’t even know if the celebrity is sensible enough to have reasoned that way. All they want to do is follow that act and it keeps going round then it will be here to stay.

What are my thoughts regarding cancel culture?

My thoughts?? I won’t condemn it totally because it isn’t possible for the world to cancel positive things but I don’t support it because of the victims. It affects their careers, it puts them in the state of depression and so much more.

It doesn’t sound fair and that’s why I’ve made up mu mind to never be a party to such. Remember, I won’t condemn cancel culture totally but I say no to it.
