Life is all about learning

One thing about life is that we must keep learning because no one can know it all. No one can have perfect knowledge about everything.

When we were kids, we learn everything. It started from how to talk, walk and read, we even learned how to look good, though some are actually a fashionista from their childhood but am sure they will still learn from someone when they are growing up.

When I was a small girl, I had a passion for hairdressing but the fact that my mom doesn't like seeing hair on the ground keeps me away from making hair for people in the compound where we lived.

I actually have so many things that I learn like:

Catering
Computer packages/ website design
Hairdressing
Bead making
Event planning and decorations

But I didn't take any of them seriously until life made me a hairdresser by itself.

When I was in JSS3 my mom told me that she wanted me to be a nurse so I agreed and went to the science class but when I finished secondary school, my mom couldn't afford the fee so I switched to studying computer science in a higher institution.

I was good at web design, Corel draw, and PowerPoint presentation but I never stopped plaiting my sisters hair I never took it seriously.

When I finally finished at the polytechnic, I took my CV all around Lagos but I couldn't get a job. I remembered one year like I went for an interview and when I got there it was something else, the interviewer usually sleeps with some girls in his office before giving them the job but when it gets to my turn he regrets ever making such a move towards me.

Then I realized that I can't cope with walking around Lagos all in the name of a job so I went back to making hair.

I couldn't find the first hair I made for someone but here is some other hair I made while learning.

The first Ghana weaving I made

My first packing gel

My first wig

It wasn't as easy as it sounds to make hair. When I first made hair for someone, I couldn't sleep all through the night. My leg ache badly, my fingers were shaking and even my nails won't grow well because I just started learning and I need to hold the hair with nails so that it will be good and neat but still it won't.

It's fun sharing it now than how I felt back then, I do sweat a lot and when am nervous, I sweat more than I should on a normal day and you can imagine how slippery my hand will be while making hair for the first time.

Where I was standing it looks like I pee on the ground because I was nervous and it was my first time plaiting hair all alone without the help of my boss and when I finished, I was disappointed at what I made for that lady but she knew it's just a practice so she wasn't angry.

I remembered the day I first made hair in my shop, I was nervous and shaking. My mind wasn't sure of what I was making for that woman but in the end, I was able to make her look so beautiful.
