On this occasion I would like to write about Accompanying my sister to the divorce court. In 2020, my family suffered a disaster regarding my younger sibling's family where they decided to separate because of a misunderstanding about talking when it was noisy.
However, the hope of everyone in a household is to survive as husband and wife until they want to separate us. But not infrequently in the course of married life it will always be smooth, but everyone who is married must have misunderstandings and so on which causes a fuss.
And talking about this divorce is not just one party, but both parties agree to divorce. And usually his wishes will be conveyed directly in front of the panel of judges. In divorce cases, when a husband and wife come to court, the judge will order both of them to undergo medical treatment first and be reconciled by the judge in both courtrooms. Moreover, talking about legal issues in Indonesia where marriage here makes divorce difficult or divorce is only possible if a trial is held with certain problems.
Talking about applying for divorce to court, I was only a witness at that time. And talking about court fees, files prepared for divorce and so on, I didn't know about that and I was only a witness for my sister at that time. Before going to court, our family and I went to her ex-husband's place to talk about problems with his property, such as houses, Honda and so on, and how these assets would be distributed here when we had a dialogue with his husband's family. After several hours of dialogue, we finally decided to share the wealth fairly.
After distributing the assets by bringing stamps and village officials, we signed on the stamps as proof that the proceeds from the construction of houses and other assets were distributed equally because in our religion we are taught this. Even the thing that God hates the most is about this divorce. As time went on, the trial was over and we were just waiting for the cost of the house to be halved, but the husband paid money to us so that the house would be his.
After waiting for several months, the husband finally paid the money from this house so that it was his. After all the cases were finished, we finally sat back as usual. We were like that in terms of carrying out a divorce, we had to go through village officials or people who were in court.
The conclusion or the result of the trial is that they separated amicably and the assets were divided equally and the children were distributed one by one so that there was no commotion but the husband allowed all of his children to be brought and he visited his children every time he came home from work until now for the sake of mentality and growth of children and affection from a father. We are not against him but still consider him as family even though we are separated.
