Whenever I go down the memory lane starting from when I joined hive, I smile broadly because I’ve really improved and learned a lot of things.
I’m thankful to the @newbies-hive for all what they’ve been doing since the beginning of this program. Now, I can boldly say I’ve learned a lot on this blockchain and I’ve also improved in so many aspects.
When I joined hive I was like this new guy that knew nothing. I made lots of mistakes and did silly things that would’ve landed me in serious trouble.
Now, let me dive into the beautiful questions.
Hive is one of the best things (if not the best) that has happened to me in my life. Yes, in my life. Before I discovered hive, I was writing for a website. Although the website was cool, I didn’t put in lots of effort like I’m doing now on hive.
Hive changed my life completely, positively of course. This blockchain will forever remain in my history and be remembered as a goal setting and life changing platform.
My experience on this blockchain;
Diving into the crypto world
Okay, so this might sound a little bit funny. Before my friend introduced me to hive, I was like many other Nigerians; I thought crypto was trash, a waste of time and like a bet. Well, don’t blame me, I was just ignorant and blindfolded by lies from people. When my friend told me about hive, he said I could write, blog, and make money in crypto. I didn’t believe that crypto part, but what got my attention was the writing part. I wanted to improve my writing skills.
When I joined hive, I started seeing strange and weird things. HBD, HIVE, TOKENS, HIVE POWER I was really confused. Like, what do I do with these mess? Well, as time went on, I started engaging with other members on the blockchain and on other apps like discord, I asked questions.. lots of questions. And now, even though I’m not an expert in the crypto field, I’m proud of what I’ve learned so far.
Hive is a place to improve your writing skills
Before I joined hive, I was writing stories for a WhatsApp group and also for a website, but I wasn’t consistent and I didn’t put in much effort into my articles. But when I started writing on this wonderful blockchain, I started writing consistently and proofreading my articles, unlike before when I didn't even bother to proofread.
Thanks to the hive learners community, I discovered I have a very beautiful skill; I can write on any given topic, all I just need to do is to focus. I’m grateful to the hive learners community for their initiatives. The community presents us with 3 beautiful topics every week. And on Sundays, we get to showcase our talents.
Meeting beautiful people and learning from their posts
I’ve met a lot of amazing and wonderful people on this blockchain, I became friends with some of them through engagements or through live meetings on discord. I also learn a lot of new things when I read their posts.

What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the stealing (yes, this is the right word) of another person’s work without reference to the original owner. Pretending that you wrote an article while in truth you copied it is plagiarism. Plagiarism is not limited to articles only, you can also be punished for using another person’s work of art (image) without proper reference. That is why it is important to always Source your images and even articles.
The hive blockchain totally disapproves plagiarism. Ever since I joined hive, I’ve never seen a community that encourages members to plagiarize.
Why Is plagiarism frowned on hive?

Yes! You read that correctly. Plagiarism is a big time crime. Plagiarists are fraudsters and scammers. Do you think it is good leeching off someone else’s hard earned work?
You’re stealing other people’s work
One of the main reasons why most of us are on hive is because we are making money on the blockchain. The money doesn’t come freely and it doesn’t come magically. We work for it and put in a lot of things; energy, time, etc.
Imagine spending more than 6 hours on an article, and someone else takes the credit for it. How would you feel? Yes! That is why plagiarism is frowned upon on hive.
Instead of working like others, they want to take the easier route. Plagiarism is not an easier route, it is a route that leads to doom.
Thanks to @samostically for delivering such an amazing lecture. I really learned a lot from that live meeting. When I joined hive newly, the first mistake I made was related to tags. I saw other people using a tag, so I decided to use it. You don’t just use tags anyhow, it is a punishable offense on the blockchain.
It is important to use appropriate tags to match your article. For example, if you write an article about agriculture, make sure you use tags related to agriculture, you shouldn’t use tags like “leofinance”. People do this to get attention from curators, but it is a punishable offense.
Why Is The Use Of Tags Very Important On Hive
It helps your post gain visibility
When writing hive learners’ articles, I use Hl-EXCLUSIVE Tag, why? Because it makes it easier for me to find my post easily, also it makes it easier for curators to find my post.
You can earn tokens by using tags
Another reason why the use of tags is very important is that it helps you earn tribe tokens. For example when posting, I use the “Neoxian” tag, you earn “Neoxag”. You can earn lots of tokens just by using tags.

- Vyb
- Hive
- Archon
- Creative coin.
These are general tags that can be used on your posts.
Explain the difference between these tags
Nexian tag is a general tag that can be used on any post and is welcome in the community as long as it is quality.
Pob, vyb, are also generals tags that can be used on any posts.
While tags like leofinance can only be used in finance and business related posts.
Spt is also another tag that can only be used for splinterland posts.
Oneup is a tag that can only be used for gaming posts.
