Its a yet another Sunday and I am back with my Sunday special creation - The Chili Garlic Tofu.

So this time I was thinking I should try some other cuisine than Indian. My family loves Chinese food and I wanted to try something with Tofu. Tofu is widely used in Asian cousins so I thought I will prepare something that gives the taste of Chinese food or I must say Indi Chinese food and health benefits of Tofu.

Tofu is a good source of protein for vegetarians and as we are vegetarians, it is definitely a good ingredient to experiment with.

Lets begin with the recipe.

To Prepare 4 servings of Chili Garlic Tofu we need :

✔ Fresh Tofu - 500 Gm
✔ Garlic - 20-25 Cloves
✔ Spring Onions or Scallion - 1 Bunch
✔ Red, Yellow and Green Bell Peppers - Half of each
✔ Green chillies - 4-5 (As required)
✔ Corn Flour - 50 Gm Approx.
✔ Dark Soya Sauce - As required
✔ Tomato Sauce - As required
✔ Red Chili Sauce - As required
✔ Cooking Oil - 4 Tablespoon
✔ Salt - As per the taste

:: PREPARATION ::

Wash bell peppers and cut into small pieces.
Finely chop sprig onions / scallions.
Peel the garlic.
Slit green chillies into long pieces.
Cut the tofu in bite size pieces, mix little salt in the corn flour and coat the tofu properly with corn flour.

:: RECIPE ::

Heat 4 Tablespoon of oil in the pan to shallow fry the corn flour coated tofu pieces.

Once the oil is hot, add the tofu pieces one by one and fry until golden.

Flip the tofu once its cooked from one side and repeat the process until its golden from all the sides and take out fried tofu pieces in a plate.

After shallow frying all the tofu pieces remaining oil we will use to stir fry vegetables.

Add chopped garlic and chillies in the oil.

Once garlic turn golden and aromatic, add chopped peppers and spring onions into it and cook on high flame.

Stir well.

Add some corn flour in the water and add soy sauce, chilli sauce and little tomato ketchup as per the taste required, mix it well and add this mixture in the pan.

Mix everything well and once the sauces mixture is little thick add shallow fried tofu pieces into it.

Mix everything very well to combine everything together. Add little salt if required.

Our Chilli Garlic Tofu is ready for serving now.

Garnish with spring onions, sprinkle some sesame seeds and serve hot.
