Greetings everyone!

I trust everyone is in good shape. I am so happy that I can finally participate in the Hivelearners Newbies initiative. I have always wanted this opportunity, and today I feel honored to be part of this initiative. This is the best medium to learn more, which will contribute immensely in my growth on the platform.

Setting a goal is very important. This is a call for more dedication, more work, and focus. When I joined HIVE, I only came with the intention of making money online. I guess I prioritize making money as my goal, I went as far as studying my wallet even when I didn't understand how the whole wallet thing works. I started asking questions about my wallet, the payouts, and how I could generate more money from the platform. Even when I was told not to focus on the earnings, I still didn't believe the guidance. Later on, I had to accept the advice of not focusing on the earnings when I started making posts without the post being curated. At this point, it was so discouraging. After some time of contemplation, my goals changed from making money to building my account.

This mindset has really helped me stay here on hive platform. The no curation trail would have been a gateway to dumping my account, but I still keep on striving and this will be a major motivation in discussing the benefits of setting goals.

The benefits of setting goals

There are lots of benefits attached to setting goals. Looking at it from different angles will make the benefit more complex, yet it is all aimed at the same thing. Join me as I take you through the benefits I prioritize more.

1. Time management.

Setting goals brings about time consideration. The issues faced most of the time when goals are not set are as a result of how we manage our time. This is where procrastination play, here there is always an excuse to say I will write tomorrow, I will do this tomorrow. With goals, procrastination won't be a measure. Being that I have that goal on building my hive account, I have created time to participate in hive block chain not minding the curation.

2. Resource Management.

The benefit of setting goals also helps the individual involved to know how to manage the resources at hand. While I went through the content from #newbies-hive, it was discussed by @starstrings01 that if someone is to by a car they are certain things to do that will make the set goals achievable. In this case, I consider my hive earnings, in hive dollars and in hive power as my resources. In a state where no goals are set, my earnings will clear immediately after every payout.

3. Setting goals makes wishes reality.

I always like the saying, which means that there is always a starting point for every difficulty. When goals are set, it gives an individual the confidence to believe that there is no impossibility in the set goal, giving him/her the courage to do more. There is no room to remain wishing when good moves haven't been made. Statements like "I wish I could buy a car" won't be considered relevant. Facing reality, it will be statements like "I will sell my stocks or coins to get the car by December. This is a call for more coins to be bought, to save and sell when it bull.

4. There is greater accomplishment when goals are set.

Setting goals helps an individual to be focused and, as such, the set goal will be achieved compared to working in a way where the environment, situations presents your engagement. I look forward for achievable hive goals.

My Hive Goals.

Treating each aspect sequentially as asked I will start with my hive power.

My hive power goals.

Hive power as said in the meeting by @starstrings01 commands respect because of the unique abilities it comes with. My current hive power is about 179HP without delegation which when my voting power is at 100% it doesn't have any value. Though my intentions at first wasn't channelled to building my hive power but getting to know more about it, I am so much interested and hope to attain a hive power of about 500HP. That means with this, my focus should be set on adding 321 HP to my current Hive power.

Adding More Followers.

The task involved in gaining more followers lies in consistency and engagements ability. With the help of this initiative I hope to learn more on how to create engaging comments and from there gain at least 56 followers more, making it a total of at least 100 followers.

My engagement and consistency goals.

In other to improve my growth on the platform, I hope to do more in my engagements. Consistency has been the first thing I got aware of since I joined hive. Through this initiative I believe consistency would not be any of my problem as my targets are set. Before now I have been engaging in several communities without being committed to do engage often aside from hive learners community which has been my family right from time.

Adding to consistency, I hope to extend my engagements not only in hive learner's but to other interesting communities that will increase my relationship with other amazing people on hive.

My target also after this initiative is to strike a reputation of 65 and above.

My goal as a newbie since I joined hive.

Being more focused on building my hive account I believe they will be interesting payouts and as I have always invested in second layer token's since I joined hive, I trust I will do more with the goals I have set on achieving.....

• 5k Leo tokens

• 20k cent tokens and

• To save at least $60 worth of hive.

This may be quite stressful considering the huddles that I may face but I believe and hope to achieve them.

My strategies to put in place.

The strategies are as follows:

a. Hive power(HP) goals

Since only waiting for HP payout won't be fast or enough to reach 500HP, I will dwell more on powering up some hive for hive power to enable me attain my goal.

b. The strategies for gaining more followers.

Making comments has not been regular for me and when I do, I don't make a good number of comments a day. With this initiative my strategy to follow is to, make at least 20 good comments a day on 20 different contents that are not spammy, to help gain more followers.

c. My strategy for engagement.

Sometimes it is quite impossible to make quality post everyday, that is why I am setting intervals of at most two days for one quality content.

d. Final strategy

Since I am already building my second layer token awaiting it's bull, I will keep on powering up Leo, cent tokens and to save at least 100 hive for my industrial business, if there is an easy way of meeting this final goal, your idea will be appreciated.

What may be my hindrance.

• Being into multitasking, the time to engage more on hive may be limited but hope to use the little time to meet my target.
• Returning to school soon may affect my engagement since most of my focus will be on academics.
• The issue of electricity in my area is another constraints.

In Conclusion

Hive is an interesting place to be, and with goals properly set, the goals can be accomplished. I hope for a successful outcome despite the challenges I may face.
