Hello hive learners, how are you today? Before i proceed with the topic for this week, I would like to talk about the book. Book is where information is recorded either by pictures or writing. There was a time when information was recorded in stone. That was the reason the ten commandments were written on the stones.
Human beings have recorded information in different kinds of materials such as papyrus, parchment, stone, wood and paper. It was a development that brough about books, the same development also brought about storing information online which we known as E-book.
In 360BC, books were not mobile, books could not easily be carried from one place to another because the writing materials were not mobile.
That was the major reason knowledge was limited to a particular group of people in society.
Today, everyone can access books anywhere in the world, and that is the reason there is mass knowledge everywhere in the world. Therefore, books give birth to knowledge.
Technology is the major reason while there is availability of books everywhere in the world right now.
PAPEBACKS VS E-BOOKS
This was what I used in elementary school, and i love paperbacks because of its advantages over E-Books. Paperbacks are very sweet to me because they do not distract my attention while reading, I like to touch them due to the texture of the books, I like to write notes on the pages for memory, and looking at them in my room.

I am always distracted by pop up messages, emails, ads, news while reading E-books; swayed away by other things like games and even the gadget I am using.
You can carry paperbacks to anywhere you are going in the world, and you can read it whatever you want. One of the disadvantages of paperbacks is that they are very bulky and bigger in volume. You can store the whole library or thousands of books on a flash disk or compact disk and take it to anywhere in the world. It will be very hard to keep taking thousands of paperbacks everywhere you go except when you want to change location. Also, if you have a place to keep E-books, it can last for thousands of years.
The durability of both paperbacks and E-books are similar. If you have something to preserve paperbacks, it can last for thousands of years and also if E-books is preserved, it can last for years.

I debunked the fact that some people believed that E-books are easily read, this should be based on the assumption of individual because some people find it hard to read E-books due to its distractions.
I downloaded some books to my phone for more than a year now, i haven’t read half of those books but the paperbacks I had at home, I have finished reading all. Whenever i want to read E-books online, I easily get carried away by distractions.
E-books can cause eye problems. This is one of the biggest disadvantages of E-books; staring at your phone and computer for hours can have an effect on your eyes because of the intensity of screen light.
You need electricity or your battery has to be charged before you can access E–book, but you don’t need all these things to access paperbacks.
The dick you store e-book can corrupt or you phone can get lost. This can make you lose all the books unless you backup E-books with your drive.
Well! Paperbacks have similar problems, they can be eaten up by insects such as termites, and cockroaches.
Paperbacks need adequate care to keep. Without adequate care, it can easily decay. Paperbacks need to be properly clean and kept clean all the time.

E-books are cheaper than paperbacks: I got some E-books from friends and I bought some by myself.
I bought a book online, but I needed the hard copy of this book so bad, I went to bookshop to get the hard copy. The price I bought the hard copy was almost twice the price I bought the soft copy.
I like the memories of paperbacks, there are books in my room that I wrote short notes and placed on those particular pages. They are memories to me because those notes mean a lot to me. Whenever I opened those notes, I remembered the reasons I wrote those things. Some of those memories are good and bad to me. They are very important to my life.
Though, E-book has advantages over paperback because you can access it anywhere in the world so far you have network to access or you have downloaded it already in the gadgets.
In conclusion, despite the widespread technologies that give birth to E-books, paperbacks can never go extinct. The world will continue using paperback till the end of time. Despite the rate of printing paperbacks having reduced, millions of paperbacks are printed yearly, researchers encode messages on paperbacks before converting them to E-books, and many cultures are still using paperbacks to collect information before converting them to E-books.
Both have pros and cons. Everyone has different choices: If e-books are convenient for you, go for it; and if paperbacks are good for you, take them to anywhere you are going. I have special books that I carry everywhere I go because of my love for these books, yet I have hundreds of E-books on my phone and computer.
Therefore, if you wish, you can combine both together just like me. The most important thing of it all is to acquire knowledge.
