Vacation for Healing Body and Mind...

Hello all Hive friend

In today's hectic and stressful life, we find ourselves constantly running for work. The working culture in India can often feel like a never-ending rat race, with people toiling away beyond their official working hours. In such circumstances, it becomes crucial to prioritize our health, as it truly is our greatest wealth.

When we talk about health, it extends beyond just physical well-being. Mental health also holds great significance, particularly in the face of work-related stress. Engaging in activities such as exercise, yoga, and meditation can significantly reduce mental stress and improve our overall mental health. These practices help us prepare ourselves for a healthier and more resilient state of mind.

Another effective way to promote good mental health is by taking breaks from work and giving our minds the opportunity to relax. Whether it's short moments of relaxation through listening to music or longer periods of downtime through vacations, both can be incredibly beneficial for easing the strain on our bodies and minds.

Two years ago, I was transferred to a location closer to my hometown in the northern part of the country. Prior to that, I was residing in the western region. During that time, we would often spend our vacations in my native place, usually once in April/May and again during the Diwali festival. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there were travel restrictions implemented for a while, but things have improved since then. It has been over 1.5 years since we moved closer to our hometown, so now we have more time to plan vacations to other places. Last year we visited the montains so this time we are planning some different.

My 5-year-old child also has fond memories of Mumbai city (where we lived before the transfer) and frequently asks when we will visit Mumbai again. Sometimes, she misses her old friends and our previous neighbors. Therefore, we have decided to visit Mumbai this year and celebrate the New Year there. Both my wife and I particularly enjoy the New Year celebration parties organized by our former company.

Aside from travel costs, accommodation represents the second significant expense. Fortunately, our company has a guest house in Mumbai, minimizing the need for hefty hotel expenditures. Initially, we intended to take the train for its cost-effectiveness, but the 22-hour journey posed a challenge. Unfortunately, train tickets for our planned dates were unavailable, leading us to opt for air travel, which not only resolved the time constraint but also saved us two days but increased the overall budget of the trip.

Mumbai stands as a prominent Indian metropolis, renowned as the financial capital. Serving as the economic heartbeat of the nation, the city boasts attractions such as beaches, diverse cuisine, the film city, Gateway of India, and enticing theme parks. I'm confident that my child will especially enjoy Imagica; despite having visited twice before, I'm still eager for another visit.

This upcoming get-together with old friends and colleagues promises to be fantastic. Our plan includes visiting a theme park and exploring some beaches outside the city. The traditional Marathi food specialy the purn polly along with Pav Bhaji will also be on my list.

Having faced intense work pressure for over two months, this vacation serves as a much-needed booster for both body and mind. I genuinely crave the refreshment it will bring. Additionally, the time away will contribute to strengthening relationships with family—after all, some dedicated family time is essential for shared enjoyment.

With those words I am ending my todays post.
