Being successful in our various fields or line of work is the desire most people, if not all humans desire to achieve, in order to reach the milestone to be tagged successful can our talent alone do this trick? Or just working hard, better still, what if we combine both?

Now what is TALENT?

source

Talent most times is being refered to as our inborn or natural ability, as in, things we find ourselves doing with less stress required, it just flows easily, some talent are natural in the sense that, even without prior knowledge of a particular thing, you easily find your way around it, while some talent can only discovered when you learn a skill, after the basic knowledge of the skill, you find yourself catching up easily while you are being taught, that way you discover you are actually talented in that field.

After discovering your talent, to really become a professional and master of that skill and be successful at it, consistency and hard work becomes the next action to take, I like to compare talent to a raw gold, after mining/discovery, it goes through rigorous refinery stage like passing through fire and removing of impurities from it to become the beautiful jewellery we adorn ourselves with, the process of refinement is the hardwork process required to be successful, just like the gold jewellery, everyone likes to be associated with a successful person.

Hard work

source

This simply refers to the effort you put into your work, it entails a lot, like determination, sacrifice, more work time etc if you are not talented in a thing but you work hard towards it, you could become either successful or frustrated depending on the individual.

I've seen a situation whereby a person really loved a particular profession and tried her best to get better at it, but unluckily for her, she couldn't just get it, she became frustrated and later gave up on the pursuit. Please note, this doesn't apply to everyone as some persons can still scale through and become even better than a talented person that didn't put more effort into knowing more, and getting better.

Now, let's assume an individual is talented and also put in the hardwork to become better, since you already find the job easier at a raw stage, putting in more work makes you a professional in handling your job in all aspects knowing how to navigate your way through in all aspect due to the wisdom and knowledge acquired through the experiences gotten through hard work, in turn, it is a sure way of becoming successful.

In my line of work for instance as a fashion designer, I had to go learn the skill before I discovered I was actually talented in it, everything basically was easier for me to find my way through as a beginner, I didn't stop there, I put in extra practice, time, and paid for upgraded classes, also Iearning the business side of it, I still do, as the learning never really stops, that way, instead of depending on the little income I made initially from making the old fashioned basic dresses, the hard work I put into my job has made me go advanced as I can now make trendy outfits and of course become more successful in my chosen line of work.

In Conclusion

To become successful in your chosen passion or carrier work hard, in addition to your talent, and you will see the doors of success opening up for you.
