With great joy in my heart I salute everyone participating in this beautiful contest.
This is my entry for the week 27 edition 1 contest. I would have dropped this post more than 24hours ago but I had to take some time to reflect in order to remember the one thing that is natural and feel excited when I do such. My profound gratitude still goes to both contestants and the wisdom endowed organisers for bringing this top topic this week.
Gently follow me as share my own perspective on this subject.
One of the thing I learn without any prior knowledge neither was I mentored before I started doing it is the selfless act of humanitarian services.
- What is humanitarian services?
I think there are two key words here, humanitarian and services. Human as we all know could either be a man or woman etc. Service is act of doing a work either for free or money attached. Linking up the two words together, humanitarian services are activities carried out to help community to alleviate their status of need. These services could include health assistance, financial assistance,or shelter or food etc.
Right from my tender age the passion and desire to help people has been my priority. I didn't go any where to learn it the only presently is just to read about it and see how to develop my own strategies to actualise this.
Some of the humanitarian services i started with is teaching the little ones free and I never knew I would become a teacher some day.
I also like sharing materials, clothes to those who don't have. As at then in my little capacity, I give pencil, biro to few persons the later it metamorphose to a broader thing.
One of the things that gives me joy now is to ensure that human beings are being helped. As I shared earlier in one of the contests that I have at least four outreaches in a year this is part of the attempt to affect humanity.
As I drop this, I am planning on another mega outreach to an accelerated community by the end of this month. This community lack good road especially during rainy season, they don't any government presence of secondary school; they trek miles before accessing the closest one, hmm of their occupation I discovered is that 96% are peasant farmers while the remaining percentage are artisans. I will offer any service I could with my team members.
CONCLUSION
As I conclude, my one thing might not be synonymous to yours because of our unique genetic makeup and God's purposes in our lives. I have discovered my own and any time I am called upon I render this service joyfully.
