KINDNESS: A SMALL ACT WITH A BIG IMPACT

Some years ago, I was going through a really tough time emotionally. I was struggling with depression, and it felt like every day was a battle just to get through, in the middle of all this was when I was preparing for my post-UTME exam, and then I had to travel from my residence to the city where I would be writing the exams.

On my way to the city, our car was stopped by armed robbers and they collected everything on us including money, phones, purse, and jewelry, they threatened to kill us if we did not cooperate with them, I gave them all the money I had then and I became stranded, it was a bitter day for me coupled with everything that I was passing through then.

The driver stopped us at the pack then it was so difficult to find my way, I was to take a taxi to the area where the university was situated, do not forget that I did not have any money to take me there, I asked for direction from people at the pack and it will cost me like a thousand naira to get to the school and my exam was scheduled for the next day.

I turned into a beggar that day, my phone was collected by the armed robbers and my ATM was kept at the back of the phone, I couldn't do anything at that period, I stood on the road for some hours because I was confused and didn't know what to do, later I came to a conclusion to stop any car that is going to that route Maybe they will help, after some hours of standing a man stopped and ask where I am going, I told him and he said he is going to that direction, he stopped me Infront of the school gate and I was so happy.

One part of my problem was solved, not too long after I met a lady she is a student and I explained everything that happened to me to her, she was so kind and asked me to spend the night in her hostel, I never take this gesture for granted, I moved to her hostel and she offered me food, I finished my exams and she gave me money to go back to my state, I collected her number and called her when I got home, my mother appreciated her and decided to send the money back to her but she refused to collect the money back, I was happy that I met someone like that.

I got admission into the university and I was in my second year when I met someone who had a similar issue as mine, she was stranded and needed a place to sleep for the night, I gladly helped her without thinking twice because I knew how it feels to be stranded on the road, I help this lady and I was happy to do so.
Since then, I have made it a priority to be kind and compassionate towards others, and to always be there for those who may be struggling. That experience has taught me the importance of empathy, generosity, and the impact that a little bit of kindness can have on someone's life.

What The Moment Meant To Me

If not for the man who helped me at first Maybe I wouldn't have written the exam, and the lady who also sacrificed herself for me, she gave me food and shelter, which is also something huge for me, I was glad I passed this to someone else who experienced something like that too.

This is my entry for this week's episode of hivelearners community prompt of #hl-w110e3 which the topic is "DON'T BREAK THE CHAIN"
