The Ugly Scenes On Our Streets. #photofeed Contest Round 71. STREET PHOTOGRAPH

Sometimes we refuse to talk about something not because we approve of it but because it sounds shameful to mention them. Because some things are celebrated by a section of the populace does not mean it is a right norm. There are several vices celebrated among the irrational people in our society. I take a walk through some streets in our community. The section of the community is the domain of touts and morally indecent.

I think it is an economic loss for society to have some sect of young and vibrant boys and girls who waste their precious lives engaging in indecent lifestyles. Most of what they do is done in secret and under the shades of darkness. Practices where people sneak in to patronize in under the secret embers of darkness is morally wrong. If it is morally wrong and considered inappropriate to go out for it in public then it is wise and ethically moral to shun it.

Some of those dark and immoral practices inhabit some of our streets. These include prostitution, drug abuse, incessant smoking and drinking, etc. The image in my photograph is of a joint operated in the heart of Ilorin City in Kwara State, Nigeria.

In this axis of the city, you will have a domain where prostitutes colonize. There are several joints where boys kill their potential by smoking all kinds of stuff.

In my view, young girls should look for other ways of catering for themselves other than offering themselves as sex merchants. Young men should avoid wasting their lives in drug abuse. Married men should stop cheating on their spouses by patronizing prostitutes.

Just a moral thought. Thank you for checking on my blog.
