Well, today I woke up thinking that in order to participate in @photofeed's "Wildlife Photography" contest, I would have to get out beyond the urban limits of the town and wander a bit on the rural roads a couple of kilometres south... So around 7:00 AM I take my camera and attached my old 55-300 mm zoon lens and walked to those places... The morning was sunny and almost immediately leaving the paved streets behind, I started to observe some very nervous and difficult to photograph small birds. But after walking for another half hour... There it was!... a beautiful juvenile Crested Caracara!.... Wow, it was a beautiful specimen perched on the dry branch of a tree at about 15 metres above the ground... I pointed my camera at the bird to take the first photo and the second, but the beautiful bird suddenly turned on the branch and took flight, then fortunately I was able to focus in fractions of a second and take a photo of the bird in full flight... And that's the story of my photo today to participate in this contest!....

Bien, hoy me desperté pensando en que para poder participar en el concurso con temática de "Fotografía de Vida Salvaje" de @photofeed, tendría que salir más allá de los limites urbanos del poblado y deambular un poco por los caminos rurales a un par de kilómetros al sur... Así que cerca de las 7:00 AM tomé mi cámara y le coloqué mi viejo lente zoon 55-300mm y caminé hacia esos lugares... La mañana era soleada y casi de inmediato dejar atrás las calles pavimentadas, comencé a observar algunas aves pequeñas muy nerviosas y difíciles de fotografiar. Pero después de caminar una media hora más... ¡Allí estaba!... ¡un hermoso ejemplar juvenil de Caricare Crestado!... Caray, era un ejemplar hermoso posado en la rama seca de un árbol a unos a unos 15 metros de altura... Apunté al ave con mi cámara para hacer la primera foto y la segunda, pero la hermosa ave de repente se giró sobre la rama y alzó el vuelo, entonces para fortuna mía puede enfocar en fracciones de segundo y hacer una foto del ave en pleno vuelo... ¡Y esa es la historia de mi foto de hoy para participar en este concurso!...

The scientific name of the Crested Caracara is "Caracara plancus" and it is a fairly common bird to find in our rural areas, especially where there are pastures used to feed livestock. I have seen them feeding on rodents and small reptiles. Their behaviour tends to be a little nervous and generally, as was the case with this bird today, they tend to take flight when they notice human presence.... El nombre científico del Caricare Crestado es "Caracara plancus" y es un ave bastante común de encontrar en nuestras áreas rurales, especialmente en donde hay pastizales destinados a alimentar el ganado. Los he visto alimentarse de roedores y pequeños reptiles. Su comportamiento suele ser un poco nervioso y generalmente, como sucedió con este ejemplar, suelen emprender el vuelo cuando notan la presencia humana... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
