Waterfalls in Austria - Gastein, Krimml, Traunfall, Grossglockner

Because I recently saw the great pictures from the Iguazu Waterfalls made by @crazy-andy, I took a look through my waterfall picttures I did in the last years and made a small compilation of these pictures on my harddisk. Of course my pictures of Austrian waterfalls cannot compare to the great falls of Iguazu but we have some beautiful waterfalls here too. I don't want to withold them from you and so you can see them here in this post.

The first pictures is a stacked picture of 3 pictures stacked together with photoshop and I did it with my smartphone, I did several longtime exposures of this scene but in my opinion they are not so good as this smartphone picture where you can still see all the waterdrops.

These next two pictures are from the popular Krimml Waterfalls "Krimmler Wasserfälle" in Salzburg. About 400,000 people visit the falls annually. The misty spray of the waterfall creates ideal growth condition for hundreds of mosses, lichens and ferns. The surroundings are the habitat for 62 bird species. This is also a reason why I like to visit this place. Doing some birdphotography is always a good Idea there. But because of the high fall of the water they say that the spray of water has a very good healing effect if you have problems with your lungs or asthma.

Also at the Grossglockner the highest mountain here in Austria, there are a lot of waterfalls. But the waterfalls from Krimml are supported from the water from the "Grossvenediger" also one of the highest mountains here in Austria. The Krimmler Arche is a small river that is supporting these waterfalls, the water flows into the "Salzach" the "Inn River" the "Danube" and then into the black Sea.
