Fire Photography - Fire at the fireplace of my parents house

I am sitting in my flat and it is a little bit cold at the moment, thats why I lit a candle in my little "candelstick oven" to warm my hands and I am thinking of the fireplace at my parents house where it was always so cosy and warm when the fire was burning there. The heat and the warmth of an wooden fire is so much better compared to the heat you can get from the radiator. So if I will ever live in a house I will definitely also want to have a tiled stove where I can heat with wood and have this special kind of heat.

And since I also like watching the fire burning I need a glass window on front of the oven like my parents have. I can still remember that I always loved making fire, starting it, watching it burn and also preparing the wood for burning, chopping the bigger logs to smaller pieces to start a fire and so on.. My grandfather and my father made me chop wood into smaller pices when I was a child and I could earn some Schilling (former currency of Austria) for it. It was sometimes hard work but always interesting and good to know how to split the wood the best way and on what to care when there is a branch or an arm of the tree.
