| В мае 2022 года мы с подругой побывали в коротком, но интересном путешествии на Среднюю Волгу. Это Самарская и Саратовская области. Базировались мы в парк-отеле Хвалынь около городка Хвалынск. | In May 2022, my friend and I went on a short but interesting trip to the Middle Volga. These are the Samara and Saratov regions. We were based at the Khvalyn park hotel near the town of Khvalynsk. |
| В зимнее время здесь горнолыжный курорт. Но мы были поздней весной. Самым неожиданным развлечением здесь оказалось наблюдение за дикими животными – сурками. Они живут у подножия и на склонах холма, на котором зимой катаются на лыжах. Зимой сурки спят. Так что лыжники лишены возможности понаблюдать за ними. | In winter there is a ski resort here. But we were in late spring. The most unexpected entertainment here was watching wild animals - marmots. They live at the foot and on the slopes of a hill where they ski in winter. In winter, marmots sleep. So skiers are deprived of the opportunity to watch them. |

| Я не сразу поверила, что это возможно. Но, медленно идя вдоль склона холма, мы сначала услышали свист. А вскоре и увидели издающего его сурка. | I didn’t immediately believe that this was possible. But as we walked slowly along the hillside, we first heard a whistle. And soon we saw a marmot making it. |

| Чтобы подобраться поближе, надо обладать очень большим терпением. Надо замереть, чтобы сурок привык к новому объекту и перестал бояться. Приближаться надо буквально по миллиметру, не делая резких движений. | To get closer, you need to have a lot of patience. You need to freeze so that the groundhog gets used to the new object and stops being afraid. You need to approach literally millimeters at a time, without making sudden movements. |
| Эти сурки давно живут рядом с человеком. Но остаются осторожными. Заметил движение, резко свистнул и моментально скрылся в своей норе. | These marmots have been living next to humans for a long time. But they remain cautious. He noticed the movement, whistled sharply and immediately disappeared into his hole. |
| Для конкурса я выбрала несколько лучших фотографий одного из сурков. Но для моей фототехники это всё ещё было далековато. Тем не менее, здесь вполне можно его рассмотреть. Я была очень рада и такому результату. Ибо выяснилось, что ловкости и терпения для того, чтобы подойти ещё ближе и обмануть сурка, у нас с подругой не хватало. | For the competition I selected some of the best photographs of one of the marmots. But for my photographic equipment it was still too far. Nevertheless, it is quite possible to consider it here. I was very happy with this result. Because it turned out that my friend and I did not have enough dexterity and patience to come even closer and deceive the groundhog. |

| Покажу ещё кадр другого сурка, у которого из норы торчит лишь голова. Видно, что мы находимся на высоком берегу над Волгой. Чуть ближе – пруды местного парка. | I’ll show you another shot of another marmot, whose only head sticks out of the hole. It can be seen that we are on a high bank above the Volga.
