Las Médulas (Spain): Largest Roman gold mine of the Roman Empire

Hi friends,

In the province of Leon (Spain) are the remains of the largest open pit gold mine of the Roman Empire in the village called Las Medulas.

The beauty of this place is spectacular both walking the many trails between chestnut trees and tufts of rock ....

...and when one approaches the viewpoint of Orellan where one can contemplate the beauty that the Romans have given us mixed with the dense vegetation of chestnut and poplar trees.

Additionally, the photograph of this beautiful landscape was taken at the end of September and very close to sunset, where the sun was fighting with the stormy clouds to continue shining the last minutes of the day.

I hope to return in spring to this place and enjoy again this wonderful place but this time equipped with my new Sony Alpha 6000L camera.

Best regards.
