For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a, we decided to go shopping for autumnal mums. Mums, or Chrysanthemums, are hardy garden plants that thrive in the cool Wisconsin autumns. They are colorful and vibrant; perfect for our front steps and backyard.
It's been an annual family ritual for us over the past few years. We hop in the car on a fall weekend, drive across the river, and visit one of our favorite garden markets in Minnesota. As always, the colors are amazing and varied; too many mums to choose from!
The mums weren't the only thing we were shopping for to add the fall flavor of our house. The market also had plenty of pumpkins, gourds, and other fun items that we use to decorate around the house.
Fall shopping...it is one of our favorite times of the year. Despite the heat being a bit much today (we're in 80Fs territory), it was a fun family adventure. The store was very busy today, so no doubt everyone else has the fall itch.
Fall colors are here, at least with the flower shops. I think in a week or two, the leaves really should start to turn and the colors of nature will be fantastic. I'm looking forward to having a better eye on the changes; when you (sort of) get in tune with nature, the world is much more exciting than sitting on the couch watching videos. At least for me anyway.
As always, hoping everyone e1lse out there is having a #sublimesunday too! Our daughter ended up choosing purple mums, but we opted for a plant that had yet to bloom...so more pictures soon. Until next weekend...enjoy the day and thanks for stopping by!
