Oops, a not so Sublime Sunday?

Sunday, as a day of the week, has never been my favourite. To be honest, I used to be more or less a hater of Sundays and I like to think that I still am. The truth is, I dislike the fact that Sundays are monotonous and annoyingly quiet as most people, including my loving parents, see it as a day to rest from all the hustle and bustle of the past week days and weekend. 😑

As a kid, I remember resenting being forced by my loving parents to take siestas on Sundays after church. Lord knows all little Hillary wanted on Sundays was just to hang out with friends and have some fun before the dreary busyness of Mondays. Lol 😂
But that never worked out. So I've grown to dislike each Sunday and never expect anything fun from it. But can the same be said for today?

Well, I woke up to a message from @dreemsteem introducing me to the #SublimeSunday community. At first, I was skeptical about joining because before now, my Sundays had been nothing close to being sublime. But after much thought and going through some of the #SublimeSunday posts in the community, I decided to join and give it a try. And boy, did I enjoy making that decision!

So after church today, rather than force myself to a siesta, I decided to take a stroll around my neighbourhood in hopes of taking some nature photography. Headphones in, I set out to a small mountain located some miles away from my house. It felt so exhilarating taking a stroll and looking down at the whole of my neighbourhood from the mountaintop while vibing to some music, after being indoors all through the past week.

Below are some of the pictures I took while I was at it:

Though the view was not exactly breathtaking it was however worth the stress.

And yes, I also got to take a picture of myself after a long while of forgetting that I had a face. Sadly, I was ignorant of the art of smiling at the moment. 😂

I spent about two hours just admiring the greenery, beauty and serenity of nature before I got a call from mom that a friend of mine came visiting and was waiting for me at home. The sun was already setting while I was descending the mountain so I also captured the alluring moment. Here it is 👇

In sum, it was quite the adventure for me and I enjoyed every minute of it. A very big thanks to @dreemsteem for introducing me to this amazing community. I'm also very glad that by joining the community, I've been able to make my first post after a long hiatus from writing. If this Sunday isn't sublime, I wonder what is. Lol, Cheers! 🙂

Thanks for reading, I look forward to knowing what you think about my little adventure and nature shots in the comments.
