For my birthday, I wanna be LIVE.
For those in the know, you probably know what that means! hehehe And for those who don't - please let me expound!!!
January 2021.
I was in Florida, on a walk, and I had an idea.
What if:
- we built a site... opposite?
- instead of collecting followers - we shared them?
- we exposed people to new content, all over the cryptosphere
- instead of focusing on our community - we set the light on OTHER communities and united them?
- people had control of their content's visibility?
- we could use all the awesome of various platforms, but negate the not-so-awesome?
- spammers/scammers didn't have a way in?
- we overcame friends'/enemies' bias in voting?
- we gave newbies eyes on their content - from the start, so they didn't lose heart?
- we rewarded integrity, dedication, and encouragement?
- we toured communities, as one group, taking away lots of fear and hesitation for "joining in something new"
- we were the only site online that literally closed for the weekends to encourage rest and balance! LOL
- we had tons of fun
And completely foreign to me.... what if we did it quietly and ONLY grew when people came out of curiosity, felt the benefit, and shared with others by word of mouth? (This was a hard one for me hehehe but we did it well!)
So I called @penderis.
Me: (Explained.) So... what do you think? Can you build that?
Him: Sure.
And the rest as they say is history...in the making. 😊
In June 2021, we were ready to start testing. But - it was chaos! Fun, hilarious, hard work, "what are we doing??" chaos. It involved lots of laughter, lots of late nights, but we STARTED.
And then came the "Wen live?" questions that Pen never stopped ignoring. LOLOL
We had been working on our staging site (and it's been working amazing!!!) but we have all continued to wonder...

Our Pen works 6 days a week at a full-time job, and comes home to listen to me beg for things to be implemented on the site. hehe And he does!!! One after the other, making us all wonder what kind of wizard can take our thoughts and ideas and put them into code so we can click buttons and be in awe! hehehe
But...
Today... we are no longer on a staging site.
Thanks to Pen, today we are LIVE (yay, on the last day of my birthday month! hehe #bestdayever)
Because our baby is growing up! And it's happy, healthy, and stable.
And I'm sure he will undoubtedly reprimand me for making him sound like a hero.... and he will self-deprecate, and say "a better dev could have built this in a weekend" or something ridiculous like that...
But our "dreem teem" is very very proud of you, @penderis. You can shrug off all the accolades as much as you want hehehe But I hope that you know that you've built something very special, line by line. Taking all my ramblings and turning it into code.
You are the most special Penny from heaven! Thank you for dedicating the last 19 months of your life to making this site for all of us! (and you're stuck with us forever!!!) So happy that we're LIVE ❤️
