The old cruise ship has long since ended its great days of traveling with wealthy tourists, remaining only to be used for private activities after its months-long repair in the shipyard. This is the first time it leaves port on a tour of the 7 pirate islands for a carnival party, for the staging of a buccaneer-themed role-playing game, set in the famous Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Captain Smith is a young recent navy graduate who seeks to gain experience at sea by taking on this type of weekend job with a group of friends from the maritime university who serve as his crew. The dark night is illuminated at times by lightning on the horizon that reaches the bridge, keeping the inexperienced sailors on alert. However, motivated by the fact that the storm is far away and only a high swell reaches them, the chief officer orders everyone to go to sleep, while he remains attentive to the controls.
In the solitude of the cockpit. Smith, suddenly feels a strange cold, then he perceives a disturbing sensation, it is as if something was watching him, then the accelerated step of a person dressed in white through the outside window gives him a scare, which makes him jump from the chair spilling his coffee on the uniform, altered the captain goes out to check, but can not find anything, he can only realize that a bank of very thick fog is enveloping the entire ship slowly, something that was not foreseen in the charts, nor in the warnings of the weather system.
Somewhat confused, he decides to take a walk through the ship's rooms to check on the passengers, there he realizes that in the main hall, there is a big party with many people, people dressed in period costumes jumping, dancing, and jumping everywhere having a great time, a drunk woman staggering approaches him, and thanks him for the detail adding to the guests, which seems even stranger, ignoring what she means.
A check of the passenger log makes him realize that only 37 people boarded, but at least 100 pirates are present in the area. As he is about to turn on the lights to clarify the matter, he hears a piercing scream from the galley that makes him run out in a hurry. When he arrives, he finds the manager passed out on the floor, and he realizes that numerous rats have devoured the entire supply of coffee.
The next morning, after barely getting a couple of hours of sleep, the captain goes to the dining room to find a protest and very upset people, the guests are complaining that they were dancing all night and there is no coffee to cheer up their bodies. The rebellion is led by a man disguised as Barbosa the evil pirate, who is standing on the bar holding up a cardboard cutlass, screams, swearing, and blows are heard throughout the place, and the young officer runs out of the place unable to give them a solution.
Locked in the bridge with the rest of his crew, he tries to radio for help, but the coast guard informs him that due to the storm on the coast, the departure of any vessel is suspended and that they must remain anchored offshore until the gale passes, that makes things even more difficult, given the impossibility of setting course to a nearby island to look for coffee. Meanwhile, crazy party people possessed by some ancient-era evil force that took over the dance, talk like buccaneers and scurry around the outer areas hunting for the captain to take control of the ship in mutiny.
Smith plunged into a deep depression, seeing his short career sinking just like the Titanic, and decides to retire to his cabin to think, it is at that moment when a translucent figure materializes in the window, it is the same thing he saw the night before dressed in white, but this time it is much sharper, it is the ghost of a man with a beard and an officer's cap, who introduces himself as the original captain of the ship staring at him and points him to go up to the roof.
The officer cannot believe his eyes as he climbs up to the highest part of the ship, he discovers that the entire roof is covered in civet feces with digested coffee beans when the ship was under repair in a shipyard in Southeast Asia, these animals used the shed as a toilet, creating an infinite supply of "kopi luwak" the most expensive coffee in the world, which would not only calm the angry pirates but would also make a lot of money.
