Coffee Indulgence

My coffee adventures aren't anything unique; I'm the regular coffee "snob" who just enjoys a good hot cup of coffee and some sweet and savory desserts and snacks.

I'll go into a nice cafe and order the usual cappuccino and maybe a little cookie or brownie, and I'm all set. I stay away from testing and trying different types of coffee at cafes, I'd rather keep my experiments at home. I'm too afraid to spend a decent amount of money on bad coffee, or good coffee even, which simply may not be suitable for my taste buds.

However, I do occasionally go coffee shop hunting every now and then; as many of you may already know.

Yet, people still wonder why I act like such an advocate for Tabaq, and some say I am biased towards it, and maybe I am; yet, you can't deny that Tabaq so far has been the most consistent coffee shop in the country. Even after their boom during 2015 or so, to the present time, their quality remains unparalleled.

There's also the nostalgia factor working on me because Tabaq gave me one of my first and best coffee experiences, and they nailed it too on the first try. So, now after over a decade, nothing has managed to come close; however, if something does topple Tabaq's position and serves better coffee and food, then I certainly won't deny it.

Last week some of our Bangladeshi Hive members and I met up. It's been a while since we last met. The last time we met at Tabaq which was back in March.

So, it's been quite a while.

This time, however, the approach and objective were different. Instead of just a basic meet-up at some cafe or restaurant, we decided to go perfume hunting first.

We have been discussing perfumes for a while now, on and off, so we all decided to go fragrance sniffing first. Long story short, after almost a 2-hour-long hunt of potent headache-inducing perfumes, we got a few full bottles and decants and then were on our way toward Dhanmondi for a little checkup at the doctor's.

So, as our mascot and the Power Puffs went for a quick diagnosis, me and the rest of the gang headed towards Indulge for a much-needed sip of coffee.

As many of you know, I've been blabbering on about Indulge for quite a while now, and I've known about Indulge for many years now. It's not even that far from my home, and I've visited Unimart countless times. Wherever there's a Unimart branch, there's at least one Indulge Coffee & Bakery stall, but I never really wanted to try Indulge during any of those visits.

This time, it was pre-planned and written in stone. We were getting coffee at Indulge. Full and final!

Right after my first sip of my regular cappuccino, I was reminded of Tabaq. I don't know what it was, or how, but it was quite similar to Tabaq, at least according to my taste buds. And we all know that's a good thing.

We had three types of desserts too, a marble cake, baked blueberry cheesecake, and a cheese tart.

The baked cheesecake was a first, I've never had anything like it, and even though it was "overpriced", at least it was good in terms of taste. The cheese tart quite effortlessly won me over. The portions served, the taste, and the price, all combined were one hell of a deal. I didn't get a chance to click any pictures, we all just dived right in. We were badly in need of some food and coffee because none of us had lunch.

All in all, Indulge didn't disappoint, but I'll need to give it another proper go. A day or evening where I plan to just head straight to Indulge, slowly taking it all in, and putting my coffee and dessert senses to good use.

So, you folks better be ready for a proper review on Indulge Coffee & Bakery.

Cheers ☕️
