The fight for coffee

In those days, coffee was not something we can easily buy, what we went through was hell, James enlightened his son Kel that he was eight years old when the fight began, his family back then always stood firm in supporting what is right, his father was a farmer, he and other farmers like him who did not support the law, said that the unexpected law was taking away the freedom of the people.

Some key players in the government were in Support, so if you fought the government for this cause, it just means you were an outlaws but the people never left what they thought was right, they keep reporting to the government that peoples are dying because of the high price of coffee.

James told his son Kel, how his grandmother used to cry at that time because of this crisis, how most people in the country were affected, and what leads some prominent men in the country to take their family and stay abroad, he could remember that day, their neighbors who barely stayed a day without a glass of coffee almost died, it was his mother who came into his room and brought a glass of coffee and the man could see the light of another day.

The authorities sees that this crisis is doing more harm than good to her people, they clarify why new policies are proposed towards coffee, stating that the country is not having the ingredients and other produce to use in coffee production, they now implement high price of coffee to enable them to have these things themselves and to stop the excessive importation of these goods.

Although the people were never against their rules, they were just not happy with the sudden increase in prices, it became an issue that bothers the countrymen, when they imagine how much they have to spend to get a coffee, they hold the authority accountable and believe that something should be done in such cases.

Low-income earners who hardly go a day without a cup of coffee find it difficult to cooperate with their families, because if they must buy coffee as it was what they treasure in their family, they will go below the target and cannot put enough food for their family's, so everyone thinks the government should do something about the price.

In those days, it was very difficult to see a family that enjoyed coffee every morning, unlike what we have today, people sacrificed a lot for the life that our children are seeing, because it was from the high prices of these products of import that the government invested more in this product and now in our country, we make our own coffee production and even our coffee now is the best in the world.

That is why in our country every year we celebrate the day of coffee, to remember when the day comes when we no longer suffer from the high price because there were surpluses everywhere from the manufacture of ours.

The celebration is done to remember the people who stood their ground but couldn't survive the rise in coffee prices and then lost their lives, our country has part of their dear face in those cafes in the supermarket.

Kel looked at his Father and realized that the elders' experiences in life are like the things his teachers taught them in school.

This is my participation in the STB Contest 8, I invite @dwixer and @hopestylist to join this fun initiative. Thanks.
