Immortality: Salt from Comoros and Coffee

It was around 3:00 a.m. in the night when Quinn, my girlfriend, jacked up from sleep with her heart panting heavily.
"What's that? Were you pursued in your dream?" I asked, expecting her to give me a yes for my question, but she kept panting, which got me more furious.

"Babe, the way you're panting shows it's a terrible nightmare. Please share with me so we can pray together," I said as I drew her head close to my chest.

"This isn't a normal dream; it's more like a secret. I saw my later father", Her heart was still beating, so she paused and took a deep sigh before she continued.
"Your late father? The scientist?" I asked, and she nodded her head in affirmation.

"Okay, what happened? What secret was revealed to you?"

"He said he doesn't want me to die, he wants me to live eternally on the earth, and has discovered a key to that from the Underworld, which is adding salt from Comoros inside a coffee and smell it."
Her voice sounded so babyish, which got me laughing, and I assumed it was because she overworked herself in the week, which was why such thoughts popped up in her dream.

While still laughing, she slightly hit me, saying, "Babe, this is no joke, I'm sure it's real."

"Okay, you mentioned immortality from coffee through salt from Comoros. Does that make sense to you? For God's sake, do you know where Comoros is? That's Africa!" The whole thing got me pissed off, so I pulled the blanket and went back to my dreamland while she was left alone raking her brain on how to convince me.

Not quite long after I slept, I got tapped by her hand, and as I opened my eyes, she placed her phone against my eyes, showing me what she found out about Salt from Comoros through Google.
"What's that?" I asked
"They have merchants that sell the salt worldwide, we can order a little quantity to test what dad said in the dream"

"Wait, you're still serious about this?" I said this with my eyes widened out of surprise.

"What if we try it and it turns out to be true? Wouldn't you want us to live forever on this planet?" She said that convincingly.

"Hmmmm, okay, let's try, but..." I agreed, and she got me interrupted by planting a kiss on my mouth, and that's how we switched into intimacy until the dawn of the day.

When it was dawn, I browsed through the merchant's site, placed an order for a very small quantity, and paid. I was told to wait a week before it got delivered, which we did, but I was reminded by Quinn every now and then.

The day of delivery came, we went to the airport, got it claimed, and left home.

It was late in the evening, so after dinner, Quinn made two cups of coffee and poured all the quantities of salt into the two cups of coffee. I took mine, and as I was about to drink, I heard her shout, "Do not drink!"

I was shocked at the voice she used, "What do you mean by I should not drink?, Was the salt you added a poison?" With my hand hanging while holding her cup of coffee, I asked her.

"You forgot that the dream said we should only smell and not drink?" She pulled down my hanging hand.

"So you mean, I shouldn't drink coffee tonight because of this? Impossible" Out of frustration, I pulled up the cup again to drink, and she began to plead, "please, just smell this particular one, I'll make a drinkable one for you."

She won, and I was out of options, so I placed the cup close to my nose and smelled while she did the same.

"So, are we mortal now? Because I can't notice any sign on my body," I jokingly asked, and we laughed over our foolishness.

"Maybe we don't need to feel anything. We'll just continue to live without death or sickness coming close to us." She said, I hissed and jumped on my bed and slept off.

The next day, I woke up late to see that Quinn had been awake already;
, she was in the kitchen preparing breakfast. I entered the bathroom to pee, and from the bathroom, I heard Quinn screaming and crying, "Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!"

I rushed out of the bathroom, and ran to the kitchen to meet her, standing in awe, looking so confused.

"What Happened? why were you shouting?" I asked immediately I got the kitchen.

"It worked!" She exclaimed.

"What worked?" I asked in a confused manner.

"The immortality! I had a knife cut as I was slicing carrot; that was when you heard me shout, and just so instantly, I saw the deep wound openings closed back with the blood rushing back." She explained like a magician, showing the already covered-up spot where she was cut.

"Are you trying to pull this on me? Stop it, please." I never believed

"It's true, let's practicalize this on you and see." She stubbornly, in a smart way, cut my hand with the knife, and before my eyes, the opening (flesh) closed up so instantly.

"This is unbelievable! I can't believe this is working."

"It is, we just saw it before our eyes. Nothing can kill us."* She stepped closer, gave me a kiss, and I grabbed her, carried her to the bedroom, and we celebrated our immortal bodies all through the day on the bed.

After six years, we revealed the secret to the world, and the scientists were astonished. They tested us and confirmed it was true, but there was no way to get the Salt from Comoros because the salt cave was destroyed by an earthquake the next year we got it.
Yeah, it's only for us to live forever.
