Coffee and the notion of time

Another early morning of loneliness seasoned with thunder and lightning announcing a torrential rain.

Once again Todoyo suffers the whiplash of insomnia that makes him toss and turn endlessly in bed, causing pains in the morning and of course tiredness due to lack of sleep.

Everyone close to him tells him that he should drink sunflower tea, miraculous water from the Egyptian plant, that he should take the TV and the cell phone out of the room and even the crazy cat should go outside.

He's done all that, but none of those recommendations have been effective.
His well-being, both his physical and mental health, is on the verge of collapse, and Doesnothing knows this and is concerned about it.

Doesnothing met him recently, not more than two months after their first meeting, when she saw him as a strong, vigorous, intelligent, and very motivating man, as well as cheerful; all this captivated her.

In Todoyo's case, seeing her was like seeing an angel, everything around him lit up, a smile broke out on his face and he knew immediately that she was the woman of his life.

Doesnothing is a practitioner of a cult with his family in which many things that seem normal to the rest of the planet are forbidden.

Todoyo came from being a well-educated, well-read boy with positive energy that made him be noticed wherever he went.
His attitude was that of someone that the hours of the day were short, he had no notion of time because of his different activities; the energy was fabulous and productive.

When he decided to ask for Doesnothing's hand from her father, the priest Grumbling, he was already willing to accept the girl's beliefs and assume them for himself.

He did not think it was very difficult, he saw in that attitude a way of showing that he loved the girl, that his feelings and intentions were noble and sincere.

And so the days went by and Todoyo was integrated into the family, the cult, and customs.

But there was something that at first was not given importance. Todoyo began to be less cheerful, his energy was no longer the same, he walked in a leisurely manner and even got tired of nothing.

The alarm went off in Doesnothing when she observed the deterioration of her beloved because of not sleeping, seeing him depressed, and because he no longer gave her anything at all.

-What had happened, was it, love that had him like that," the girl wondered.

It was so serious that the witch doctor who lived in another city and was well known for curing strange diseases had to be called in.

Dr. Wetblanket arrived at dawn on a rainy day when everyone thought Todoyo would pass on to the world of the dead.

The doctor, upon arrival, sat by the bedside, took out a notebook from his briefcase, and a pencil, and asked to be left alone with the patient.

Doesnothing, grabbed a chair, and sat on the other side of the bed.

-What part of leaving me alone didn't you understand, miss?" the doctor asked in a displeased voice, addressing Doesnothing.

The girl, looking regretful and scolded, hurriedly left and closed the door.

A couple of hours went by and nothing came out of the doctor's office, and nothing could be heard. Everyone was intrigued and their fingernails rattled with the clash of teeth.

Suddenly the doctor opened the door and asked for a pot of hot water, and a jar of sugar, and to have it delivered immediately.

-Is he going to give him a bath, is he going to give him witchcraft to cure him," were the questions of everyone.

They handed the hot water and the jar of sugar to the doctor and he energetically closed the door.

After 15 minutes, everyone smelled a particular odor, an aroma that they could not decipher.

-That doctor's spell smells good," said the oldest of the group.

Everyone agreed that the aroma coming out of the room was extremely delicious and pleasant.

The door opened and everyone was stunned, they looked like statues with their eyes open like goats eating tamarind. The scene they saw was amazing.

Todoyo was up and talking, his energy had returned.

-What happened to him, what did he have, what did he give him," were the questions of those present.

Dr. Wetblanket replied that the boy was a person accustomed to God's blessing, hence his energy and that when working or doing his day's things, he did not notice the notion of time; he was active all the time thanks to the coffee.

The doctor had given him coffee to cure him, something that was forbidden in Doesnothing culture.

Todoyo, when he gave up coffee, all his energy dropped and his days became long and unmotivated.

Now Doesnothing is happy because her man, every morning, gets up hard and compliant thanks to coffee.
