Boosting My Satisfaction; The Joy In Self-Making My Coffee.

Several times, my mom always said I picked too much behaviour from my dad and it didn't mean anything to me until I became an adult. After looking thoroughly, I realised that it was not just my dad but men who love to do things themselves.

Men who love to do their chores find it hard to let people do things for them. They don't get contended easily because they always feel like they can do whatever you want to do for them better than you can. For some men, it's true while some can't do better but they are stuck with the mentality of doing things better and they feel extra satisfied.

Whenever it has to do with anything that goes through my mouth to the belly, I always want to be in charge of it but doing it every time isn't just possible. There are days I crave for someone else meal and sometimes, I feel too tired to make my dinner after a stressful day. But, preparing my meals comes with a special level of satisfaction for me and I feel great about it.

Anyone familiar with my blog will understand how much I love to cook and how special my meals are to me. There is this special connection I have with my food and it doesn't end with just cooking, I derive more satisfaction from preparing my coffee/tea than anyone preparing it for me.

This has nothing to do with being a perfectionist, I am not perfect at anything but I learn to be better with something after every mistake. Doing it myself just ensures that the process aligns with my standards and preferences.

It's not just about drinking the coffee for me, getting involved in the process brings pleasure while drinking and the effort/experience matters as well.

There is this contentment that accompanies making coffee myself and despite the imperfection, I still enjoy my coffee with love just because the act of creating something with my hands makes me appreciate the outcome more than when it's been done by someone else. This doesn't mean I don't appreciate or enjoy coffee made by someone else, I appreciate it especially when they do it even without me requesting but I just enjoy it more doing it myself.

It's easier to tell my family that I want it this way, after guiding them a few times, they can easily learn but when it has to do with an outsider, complaining or correcting them might be of no use because they might not have to make coffee for me again. The only thing that would make me complain is when hygiene is zero, I wouldn't drink the coffee and just let the person know what he or she is doing wrongly.

Personal hygiene is another reason why I love to prepare my coffee myself, I value eating or drinking what's healthy to save myself from any future problems. It would be unwise for me to gulp them every cup not minding how it's been prepared just because I love coffee. We love coffee and not overlooking some things is part of the love.

There isn't much to me enjoying the coffee I prepared myself, the involvement, effort and experience just make the coffee more satisfying. After every cup of coffee, it becomes a unique experience, and the act of creating it myself adds a special touch that enhances the enjoyment.
