Bank Holiday coffee stop Coffee#1

OK Hive coffee lovers my first coffee out for about 3 months, well it is a bank holiday so I deserved a treat.

So where did I go Coffee#1 at the bottom of Courtenay Street and right next to my bank in Newton Abbot so really handy.

There are a few other Coffee Shops in Newton as well as Costa Coffee chain which seem to be everywhere. 3 in walking distance just in Newton. but Coffee #1 is one of my favorites its quite large inside and they haven’t crammed as many tables in so social distance is not a big problem and the whole front windows open so plenty of fresh air along with a couple of outside tables if it's not raining or you are a smoker.
The decor is a real mix and too which makes a nice change from the coffee chain emporiums.

So what did I have this time a classic Cappuccino and a slice of Cappuccino cake.

The Cappuccino was a nice size and not overly large which I really hate who drinks a coffee the size of an Olympic pool anyway. Anyway rant over back to mine, a good sprinkling of chocolate on the top of the steamed milk froth and not some tacked heart, leaf or coffee bean shape just a good old-fashioned sprinkle.

The cake was very nice too loads of coffee flavor not too dry and some good chunks of dark chocolate hidden away. The coffee icing wasn’t too overpowering or sticky one of the reasons I didn’t go for the coffee cheesecake which would have been my normal choice.

The only thing that seemed a bit odd was they were still only taking card payments which threw a few people a curveball and left them fumbling in their bags when they had already got the cash out.

Well, all for now Hivers Time to walk home and sort some lunch out.
