The altered seeds

Every weekend Juan and his grandfather would go through the town to visit each of the coffee plantations of his grandfather's friends, very old men who had dedicated their entire lives to the cultivation and production of coffee. For Juan it was a very nice experience, since it was his dream to be a great coffee producer, but for that he had to prepare himself and acquire all the knowledge that his grandfather taught him, although he also needed to have a piece of land to start doing it, so his grandfather gave him a piece of land in his backyard as a gift. Juan no longer wanted to return home with his parents, but he wanted to stay to work and take care of his grandfather, who had some health problems and needed someone to take care of his medicines.

Every morning before making breakfast for him and his grandfather, Juan had to water the only coffee plant that his grandfather had, that was going to be his legacy and he had to take care of it as if it were his pet, he added some fertilizer, his respective amount of water and talked a little with it, since from that plant he was going to have many more, that was his goal. It had a very nice color and already had a small flower.

Juan forgot about the coffee plant for a few days, because he only dedicated himself to taking care of his grandfather, because he did not want to lose him. His grandfather gave him a brown bag that was very small and light, he said something in his ear and those were his last words and he could not resist any longer. Juan could not believe it, his grandfather had died at that moment, he did not stop crying and crying. From then on things were nothing, just the same for Juan.

Juan was alone, sad, discouraged and didn't want to do anything and even didn't go out to the yard anymore after his grandfather's departure. All the plants were withered, dry, but suddenly he reacted and told himself he had to continue with his life and with that great dream he had promised his grandfather. So he decided to go to a store that sold products for plants and bought some coffee seeds.

He sowed the beans he had bought, for that he prepared some soil and placed them, so he already had more responsibilities, to take care of his sowing, the days passed and the seeds were growing and had born as thorns, so he went to the store and it was closed.

He went back to buy in another place, but this time he added some fertilizer first to see if they were born better, however, when they were already growing some of the plants were orange, he could not explain why and the worst thing was that the insects ate all his planting, it was the worst. Juan wanted to give up all that work and give up, never to sow again, since those seeds were useless.

One day he noticed that his grandfather's coffee plant began to drop its flowers, which seemed very strange to him, the next day another one, and so on. Juan sat up all night watching the coffee plant, since that was his only chance to get a coffee plant. Juan woke up with his heart racing, since he heard a very loud voice, just like his grandfather's, speaking to him, but it was no one.

After that very strange dream he began to look around the house where he had placed that brown bag that his grandfather gave him when he checked it he realized that it had some coffee beans and a small note "The seeds that you are buying today come out altered and you will never be able to harvest coffee and these that I leave you are magical and I have had them for many years, waiting for this moment."

Many things went through Juan's mind, he was very happy, he immediately began to prepare new soil to place those seeds and hope that his dream could come true. His grandfather's seeds were magic and the plant was going to grow faster than normal, it would only last a month, it was the strangest thing. He wanted to see his grandson's dream come true, only his grandfather knew where to find those seeds, so Juan would have to take advantage of them, take care of them. His grandfather's plant had dried up, Juan was sad, it was what he had left of his grandfather. Now he would have to have his own coffee plants.
