The mystery of Diana and the magic coffee

"We have unanimously decided. Que la acusada está totalmente demente y por lo tanto deberá permanecer en un centro de reposo mental sin contacto con el exterior del centro".

These were the harsh words of the judge condemning young Diana to live the rest of her life away from everything she loved, which was to live freely drinking coffee.

A week ago, Diana was gathering some retro furniture and things to set the scene for her little café. Having a coffee shop was her lifelong dream, so she invested all her savings and bought the coffee machines and wanted to do something retro, so she would have the possibility to buy more things for cheaper.

He looked in his grandmother's basement, in his parents' attic and still felt that he was missing something special for decoration.

She had some binilos, pictures, plants, but she was missing something that would give her café that unique touch that Diana hoped to offer her customers.

One afternoon on her way home, she came across a garage sale. She walked past it, but something was calling to her, with a loud voice in her head. She realised that maybe this was the place that would have what she was looking for and she went back.

The place looked great, they had a lot of cool stuff and the owners were nice hippies who told Diana that she could walk around the garage with confidence.

The girl got lost among some colourful clothes and home video tapes in huge baskets.

She took a step back and crashed into a mirror that was covered with a sheet. In front of the mirror were items from an old-fashioned coffee shop, a crystal decanter, a Grecian coffee pot, mugs with funny faces on them, and colourful saucers. Diana thought that all this should be part of her project and took it all in her hands.

And inadvertently she dropped an old-looking coffee can. She bent down to pick it up with the only finger she had free of things, at that moment the mirror was uncovered and when it reflected a drying light made her lose consciousness.

When she woke up she was in the room of an ancient castle. As she looked around in amazement and held the grega and the jug in her hands, a girl came running in, crying. They both looked at each other in amazement at what they were wearing.

Diana asked her why she was crying and the girl explained that she was the queen and that her king, an important ruler, had asked her for something new or he would replace her. Diana was surprised to see the absurdity of the machismo of that time, the medieval times were totally different from what she lived daily.

It occurred to her to hand over all the coffee things to the queen and she taught her how to make the best coffee ever.

You add a dash of cinnamon and that's it. You'll have your king at your feet.

Just as she finished explaining to the queen, the blinding light returned and knocked the girls senseless. When Diana awoke she was in the vault of the city's central bank.

The police arrived immediately, and all the news reports began to talk about the woman who managed to get into the bank vault without setting off the alarms.

Diana told her story over and over again and at the trial she was convicted as guilty and insane.

Years went by and poor Diana grew old serving the best coffee in the cafeteria of the mental sanatorium, where she got a job to entertain herself and do what she loved, brew the precious coffee. She was happy in that place where she was treated well and cared for.

She always thought that machismo was not only in the Middle Ages and she never stopped telling her incredible story of time travel.

When she turned 88, Diana passed away, made coffee and took a cup to her bedside table. She went to bed for a nap and never woke up again.

The next day, all the world's news bulletins carried the scoop that an ancient tomb from medieval times had been found belonging to a very important king in a remote part of the world.

Inside, among the belongings the king had sent to be buried with him, was a modern-day Grecian coffee pot, a coffee can and a small jar of cinnamon. How it got there, they never knew.
