Coffee and Sleep

Its an odd combo for discussion, but im a duck in an odd position. Im at work tonight at the Sleep Lab, its been a busy past few years. Looking forward to toning things down sooner or later. Been working nights for 13 years and coffee became a good friend a long time ago. Its quite the social drink isnt it. I can remember being a young person in the world, going to a get together at a familys house. Sitting around the table while the host brought out some sandwiches and got the coffee ready. At that time i had no interest, i can only vaguely remember trying coffee at that time, maybe i was 10 or 12 years old. It wasnt until when i was older that the taste for a delicious brew, made for us by the earth was acquired.

Yes, thats a straw in the Ol Duck mug. Im sippin on this same coffee that i posted about last week. Its an Odin Force blend, Valhalla Java. A very high caffeine content that might be inducing cardiac palpitations as i speak here. Inspired by a guitar person namef Zakk Wylde

Its a very tasty, medium blend, taste of coffee but is very smooth. But Coffee and Sleep. Some people love their coffee so much that they man have a cup late at night right before bed. My mom was always like that for many years, but lately not so much. She may have 2 cups a day. I mostly drink coffee when im at work, but i work a lot, so its routine for me to have 1 to 2 cups a day too.

Coffee and Sleep, in regards to me being this person that does a study to see how well someone sleeps. How well they breathe. How many times the person wakes up. Some people wake 5 times and hour, some people 40 or 80 an hour. Worst ive seen is about 120 an hour. Tonight is not so bad but i have this coffee, so for the moment things are ok.

Lets look at how the study looks.

Brain waves on top, a chin signal (muscle), ekg (heart), leg channels (muscle movement), snore, respiratory, and pulse oximetry which is just oxygen. Its slightly complicated but im a complicated man i suppose. It was difficult at first, and still is sometimes. Night shift, trying to live a normal life to the best potential, hmmm, many factors. The stresses that we all face. How bout those co-workers that drive you up the wall....the answer.

Coffee.

Once again, forgive the straw, its not classy.
