My favorite Abkhazian coffee

Since I was born in Georgia, of course, Abkhazian coffee is close to me. Both in Georgia and in Abkhazia, coffee is one of the favorite drinks. And as I think - everyone loves coffee in the Caucasus. But I must say right away that they prefer to drink coffee blacker and stronger. They drink little with sugar, but still there are those who like to drink coffee with sweets. Abkhazian coffee is brewed in a Turk and on hot sand, and coffee is served in small cups on saucers. Why on a saucer? Because you can't just serve coffee in a cup, otherwise it will be considered disrespectful, such a tradition. But here, too, there are some peculiarities in the preparation of coffee. Abkhazian coffee has its own unique taste that cannot be confused with other coffee.

Abkhazian coffee is always prepared only in a Turk, strong and aromatic. This requires high-quality coffee beans, since coffee is ground in the same way by those who brew it. When the coffee is brewing, the froth is allowed to rise several times, but at the same time, so that the coffee does not boil. When the coffee is ready, the froth is spread with a spoon over the cups to everyone present. And then the coffee itself is poured. To prepare coffee, you need a special fine grinding, then the quality of the drink is high. But there is also one peculiarity when making coffee in Abkhazian style. Someone brew coffee without sugar, but many brew coffee with sugar in a Turk, and later sugar is generally not served when they drink the finished drink.

But further to the table may be offered chocolate, cookies and dried sweet fruits, cookies, gingerbread, halva and even fried nuts. Strange as it may seem for some living in other countries, but in Georgia and Abkhazia, this is exactly how coffee is served to guests. And then the Abkhazian coffee recipe (calculation for one portion), where it contains: coffee of a special fine grinding - 14 grams, sugar - 5 grams, water - 0.25 liters. And the easiest way to cook. You need to pour sugar into the Turk and warm it up so that it becomes like caramel. Next, add coffee and water and bring all this to the beginning of a boil and the formation of the first foam. And so several times (remove and put the Turk). Coffee is drunk, of course, hot.

And some interesting facts about coffee from around the world.

I think we owe the creation of instant coffee to a coffee concentrate that was created from chicory. We owe the great spread of coffee and coffee houses to Tsar Peter the Great, who was a great lover of coffee, and he drank only black coffee, and without milk and sugar. Interestingly, some artists used coffee to paint their paintings. Coffee is brown because the beans contain sucrose. And the bitter taste of coffee is because it contains tannins (tannins). It has been proven that they have a good effect on digestion. Coffee also slows down the growth of cancer cells in the body. And as we know from history, the very first coffee shop in the world, Cafe Florian, was opened in Italy in 1645 in Venice. The coffee shop has been in the same place for many years and operates today in St. Mark's Square. This is the most expensive coffee shop in the world. By the way, I was there and drank coffee.
