FungiFriday: Garden puffballs 2

Hello friends,

Happy #FungiFriday to all of you.

From time to time puffballs appear in the garden next to the irrigation hose. Puffballs quickly burst out of the ground. During the summer, it only takes one rain and a drop in temperature for a couple of days and they appear immediately.

Unfortunately, they don't last long. They ripen and dry in a few days, so they don't have enough time to grow more than a few centimeters.

I picked one mushroom two weeks ago and tear it in half. I put it on the ground, and the next day, I came across a bunch of ants tearing it apart and carrying it to the anthill.

Interestingly, they collected it only after it was cut in half and left on the ground. I've never seen ants collect it while it's still growing from the ground.
