WARHAMMER 40k Lore - Sisters of Battle (Adepta Sororitas) Made strong by their Faith!

Source

Good day all!

Here is another 40k Lore post. I have been covering a lot about Space Marines and you might ask yourself - are there any girls in 40k?

Well yes and the Sisters of Battle are not the only women in the game. They do however, have an interesting background, journey in the game and aesthetic!

The Sisters of Battle are known as the Adepta Sororitas are also known as Nuns with Guns! They are practically the fighting force of the Ecclesiarchy - which is to say, the church of the God-Emperor of Mankind.

And it is not just lip service, in the game these women can literally channel their faith into a weapon and use it to lay their enemies low!

Beyond the standard sisters, there are Saints who become the vessels of the Emperor and often these Saints reincarnate themselves into a new host body. These Saints are ridiculously powerful.

Their aesthetic is interesting. Religious iconography and relics can be seen all over the place!

Originally, the Sisters were the fighting force of the Witch Hunters Codex, or otherwise known as the Inquisition of the Ordo Hereticus. This is because their faith makes them strong against psykers and they are the ideal army to fight against the enemy within.

Now they have their own Codex and they are one of the strongest armies in the currect core rules.

I have not yet gone deep into all the new lore, the above squad I know, but there are many units in the range that I do not know at all!

They ARE Imperial so no doubt, if I had the money, I would collect them... eventually.

Cheers!
