Commissioner for Sport in Cross River State beaten in Abuja, image dent.

Many things happen on a day to day basis in this country but beating up a commissioner isn't one of them.

Chief Ofu Aya, the Commissioner for Sports and Cinematography and Mr Emmanuel Elom the Chairman State Sports Commission who, for the past two months, have been squabbling over office space threw caution and dignity to the wind and engaged in physical combat, a complete denouement and paradox to the great strides the state was known for just a few years back.

I laughed at first when I saw these headlines but on a serious note, this is terrible. How would our supposed leaders be engaging in physical combat? Were they trying to demonstrate their sporting skills?

Like what's all this? This is a total disgrace to their title, to the state, and to the country at large. To top it all up, it was a public fight and so passersby must have also witnessed the event. This is a total dent on the so-called positions they hold.

Looking at this from a sane angle, none of them is eligible for the position because they just lost their dignity publicly. They should have just walked away and resolved the issue with a clear mind or what do you think?

If I were in a position to choose the person to occupy the office space, it wouldn't be any of them. Struggle for power and public embarrassment.

The sporting sector that they're fighting over has been neglected for a while now and yet this.

We are supposed to be learning how to make peace and not fight but clearly, we're seeing the opposite. Let me stop there for today.

Do have a great day and stay out of trouble.

With love, wongi😊
