I tend to be very eclectic with the kind of content I like to consume whether I read, listen or watch. But a specific author can impact me at any stage of my life, he’s called John Ronald Reuel Tolkien or better known as J.R.R Tolkien, you’ve probably heard of him and he’s the author of Lord of the Rings, The Silmarilion and The Hobbit
And why does tolkien's work impact me so much?
Well, I always liked universes of medieval fantasy, but it's not just the theme of elves and orcs fighting epic battles that most calls my attention in Tolkien's work, but how it all makes sense.
The way he builds a world that seems to have really existed, it's as if he really went and is just reporting what happened.
The human factors and how the actions of each individual within that universe have real consequences is something that enchants me. I don't particularly like it when something in the story doesn't make sense and the author uses a deus ex machina to solve that situation that seemed impossible. This is something very frustrating in my view. In Tolkien's work, everything fits together and each action leads to a reaction, all choices have consequences, and no one is free of their weight.
The references within the universe itself are incredible and inspiring. Seeing that a castle full of life where so many things happened and after many ages accompany a character who revisits him and is in ruins this is something that moves the reader, you feel the weight of that and how much emotional charge is involved in a simple place.
I feel like I hadn’t just read the silmarillion, I lived those stories and the history of that world with its characters, knowing and learning from them, the willpower of beren, the cunning of melkor and the naïveté of the ainur, the arrogance of Feanor and Túrin's suffering. There are countless characters and moments in which even the smallest of creatures has a role.
Wars are not just wars they have a motivation behind, The losses in battles are felt and the choices have consequences. all of this is shown and the great protagonist is not a character in itself, but the world itself. It is something very profound and close to our reality because regardless of what happened, happening or will happen, the earth will continue to exist here and we are only passing through it briefly.
It is hard to believe that Tolkien's work, Arda's world was written by a single person, is really an inspiration for those who read it, to see that a human being is capable of building something so great. All modern fantasy derives from Tolkien, George R. R. Martin, J. K. Rowling, Stephen King, Allan Moore. Hipe culture, D&D, WOW, Skyrim ... There are countless references to Tolkien in culture, whether in music, films or games.
Tolkien not only created a world he helped shape the world as we know it today with his work.
His personal life story is also fantastic, but that could be a subject for another time.
Anyway I think I managed to express a little why I have so much affection and admiration for this work and why I like to read it in any part of my life.
Tolkien's work is not only a fantasy but also fantastic, because it brings to the reader the feeling that he can do great things, awakens the inspiration of those who read it, and for me this is the most important thing in his work.

Eu custumo ser bastante ecletico com o tipo de conteudo que gosto de consumir seja lendo, ouvindo ou assistindo. Mas um autor em especifico consegue me impactar em qualquer fase da minha vida, ele se chama John Ronald Reuel Tolkien ou mais conhecido como J.R.R Tolkien, provavelmente você ja ouviu falar dele é o author de o senhor do aneis, O silmarilion e O hobbit
E por que a obra de tolkien me impacta tanto ?
Bem eu sempre gostei de universos de fantasia medieval mas não é só essa tematica de elfos e orcs lutando batalhas epicas que mais me chama atenção na obra de tolkien e sim como tudo faz sentido.
A maneira como ele constroi um mundo que parece realmente ter existido, é como se ele realmente tivesse ido até e esta apenas relatando o que aconteceu.
Os fatores humanos e como as ações de cada individuo dentro daquele universo tem consequencias reais é algo que me encanta. Eu particularmente não gosto quando algo na historia não faz sentido e o autor usa de um deus ex machina para resolver aquela situação que parecia impossivel isso é algo muito frustrante ao meu ver. Ja na obra de Tolkien tudo se encaixa e cada ação leva a uma reação todas as escolhas tem consequencias, e ninguem esta livre do peso delas.
As referencias dentro do proprio universo são incriveis e inspiradoras. Ver que um castelo cheio de vida onde tantas coisas aconteceram e depois de muitas eras acompanhar um personagem que o revisita e esta em ruinas isso é algo que mexe com o leitor, voce sente o peso daquilo e quanta carga emocional esta envolvida em simples lugar.
Eu sinto como se não tivesse apenas lido o silmarillion, eu vivi aquelas historias e a historia daqule mundo com seus personagens, conhecendo e aprendendo com eles, a força de vontade de beren, a astucia de melkor e a ingenuidade dos ainur, a arrogancia de Feanor e o sofrimento de Túrin. São inumeros personagens e momentos onde ate a menor das criaturas tem seu papel.
Guerras não são apenas guerras elas tem uma motivação por trás, As percas em batalhas são sentidas e as escolhas tem consequencias. tudo isso é mostrado e o grande protagonista não é um personagem em si e sim o proprio mundo. É algo muito profundo e proximo da nossa realidade pois independente do que aconteceu, acontecendo ou vai acontecer a terra continuara aqui existindo e nos só estamos passando brevemente por ela.
É dificil de acreditar que a obra de Tolkien, o mundo de Arda foi escrita por uma unica pessoa, é realmente uma inspiração para quem o le, ver que um ser humano é capaz de construir algo tão grandioso. Toda a fantasia moderna deriva de Tolkien, George R. R. Martin, J. K. Rowling, Stephen King, Allan moore. A cultura hipe, D&D, WOW, Skyrim... São inumeras as referencias a Tolkien na cultura seja na musica, filmes ou jogos.
Tolkien não só criou um mundo ele ajudou a moldar o mundo como conhecemos hoje com o seu trabalho.
A historia da vida pessoal dele tambem é fantastica, mas isso pode ser um assunto para outra hora.
Enfim acho que consegui expressar um pouco por que tenho tanto carinho e admiração por essa obra e por que gosto de ler ela em qualquer parte da minha vida.
A obra de tolkien não apenas uma fantasia mas sim fantastica, Pois traz ao leitor o sentimento de que ele pode fazer coisas grandes, desperta a inspiração de quem a le, e para mim isso é o que tem de mais importante em seu trabalho.
