Is swimming in cold water good for your brain ?

As I sit here on the beach looking out over the very cold water of Lake Superior I have one thought... I wonder if I could go for a swim.... It’s cold though. Probably around 40 degrees F. (5 degrees Celsius )

I think I would definitely need a sauna after swimming in that.

That’s too cold for swimming. I think. I wonder what the experts say. When can I go for a swim ? 50 F ? 60 F ... Are there any benefits to cold water swimming ? Is it good for your brain ? So I googled “Is swimming in Cold Water good for your Brain?
