Antes de realizar la receta de hoy me paseé por varias opciones para “matar el antojo”. Estuve entre hacer: arroz con coco, manjarete, besos😘 de coco y conservas de coco. Al darles a probar mis conservas a mis familiares uno de mis tíos, que llegó esta tarde a mi casa, con cara de asombro y hasta de nostalgia me dijo: “Sobrina, estas conservas son igualitas a las que hacía mi mamá para vender”.😍 Yo me sentí ¡FELIZ😊! Son esas cosas maravillosas que te conectan💞 con tus ancestros👵, a quienes siempre debemos tener presente para honrarles porque sin ellos no estuviéramos en este plano. Así que GRACIAS abuela👵 por pasarme tu don para hacer las mejores conservas que se vendían en las calles de la Caracas de hace ya unas cuantas décadas. >

Para realizar este dulce típico necesitaremos: - 2 o 3 cocos, yo usé 3 porque en mi casa somos muchos y muy golosos😋… - 1 kilo de papelón picado en trozos. También conocido como panela, piloncillo, raspadura o chancaca en otras regiones de Latinoamérica. - 1½ taza de agua >

Para ello puse en práctica una técnica que vi hace poco en las redes sociales. Consiste en colocar el coco directo en el fuego♨️ de la cocina. Sí, se abrió con facilidad, pero le dejó un olor a ahumado que no me agradó mucho. Así que terminé de hacerlo con la vieja fórmula. Golpearlo contra el piso para que se abriera y luego proceder a separar la pulpa con un cuchillo🔪 o cuchara🥄. Por suerte, para esta tarea me ayudó mi sobrino. > Now comes a bit laborious part, separating the coconut nut (pulp) from its hard shell.
