Submitting my first NFTs to Terra World

I thought I'd share a part of my story today about my hobby, photography. It has long been an expensive hobby of mine, I say it's expensive because many moons ago I undertook a photography course that taught me about the rule of three and many other important aspects of shooting a great shot. It was also really expensive, I remember my first camera, well not my first as my first was one that I had to load negatives into and wind up after each shot, the trusty Kodak! My first proper camera cost me a few hundred and it was still crap. A digital Cannon, I can't recall its name but I am sure it's still laying around somewhere. In today's terms, my phone is alot better.

If you've followed my blogs for quite some time you may have seen some of these in their full glory over the years as I'm revisiting some of my old posts and starting to mint them as NFTs. I've shied away from the NFT space for some time as I did give it a go but Opensea cost me quite a bit to open an account back then. I published some indigenous art work that I've sold in real life for quite abit. But in NFT world it's all about a different style of digital art. Pixle, I don't have much patients for it despite giving it a crack too and failing miserably.

I am aware that Hive has an NFT showroom which I'm interested in joining but users need to be whitelisted so I'll jump on tomorrow and see if I can work it out and get accepted. But something has peaked my interest recently
Terra World is launching and they're seeking artists and interested people to register to their NFT gallery. I have two crypt loves now, Hive and Terra so tonight I submitted my 5 pieces to their website for selection.

They're not guaranteed people will be selected and from the form submission it takes them about four weeks to get back to you on an outcome. So I got to work developing some of my favourite shots from over the years into NFTs. Some that I absolutely fell in love with after taking them. There's something magical about photography, it's not just about taking an image, it's about telling a story, capturing the moment. Anyone can take a picture but to take a great picture, to know what you're looking for, to create art that's a whole other level.

Art has the ability to inspire, to evoke an emotional response from someone, to make them want to be one with the artwork. There is nothing more powerful than watching people react to your art, something I can not witness from the comfort of my seat at home while you read my blogs but I can take you on a journey with me.

It took me a few days to submit them to Terra World and it has taken me months to get involved with Hives NFT showroom. Mainly because as an artist and as anyone really, putting your work out there for others to value hurts alot especially if it doesn't sell as I've experienced with Opensea in the past.

But it can also be really rewarding when people do purchase your art. A good example of this was before lock down when I created some Indigenous art for the Rotary Club that does some fantastic work supporting people in our community.

The pieces I made went up for auction and they were two, unique one of a kind pieces selling for several hundred dollars. All of the profits went to the Rotary Club so they could continue their great work in our community.

I've created a few more pieces through lock down awaiting our reopening which will go up for auction to support people getting through this next phase of COVID and putting food on the table. So I thought, while I'm waiting, why not have a crack at NFTs and see where we can go with it.

Let me know what you think about the images I've shared above, they've been submitted to Terra World and fingers crossed they select my work.
