We are at the beginning of March, and in a few more days Spring arrives, time when the long Winter siesta ends to start the flowering season.
Although in the tropics, as is the case of Venezuela, the country where I live, we do not have the four seasons like the rest of the world; nature seems to ignore this reality, this being the month in which the trees bloom and some bear fruit.
This morning, walking along an avenue near my house, I could not help but notice these colorful trinitarias, also known as bougainvilleas in other countries, climbing the metal fences that separate the Parque del Este from the concrete sidewalks and pavement of the streets, as if they wanted to show off to passersby and drivers, providing a pleasant spectacle to the eye, while other parts of the city are covered in yellow by the flowering of the araguaneyes and other trees.
Estamos a inicios de Marzo, y en unos días más llega la Primavera, tiempo en que la larga siesta de Invierno finaliza para dar inicio a la temporada de flores.
Aunque en el trópico, como es el caso de Venezuela, el país donde vivo, no contamos con las cuatro estaciones como el resto del mundo; la naturaleza parece desconocer esta realidad, siendo este el mes en que los árboles florecen y algunos dan sus frutos.
Esta mañana recorriendo una avenida cercana a mi casa, no pude dejar de observar estas coloridas trinitarias, también conocidas como buganvillas en otros países, trepadas a las rejas metálicas que separa al Parque del Este del concreto de las aceras y del pavimento de las calles, como queriendo exhibirse a los transeúntes y conductores, proporcionando un agradable espectáculo a la vista, mientras otras partes de la ciudad se cubren de amarillo por el florecimiento de los araguaneyes y de otros árboles.
